Open Table Mobile Food Mission began in 2015 with four collapsible tables, a huge tent, and volunteers and pastors from two Rochester, MN churches: Zumbro Lutheran and People of Hope. After researching food resources available in the community and possible gaps in services, we settled on a Thursday night hot meal provided weekly all year long in southeast Rochester at Parkside and Oak Terrace Mobi

le Home Parks, and then added nearby Eastridge Estates as well. In partnership with Channel One we began providing weekly made-to-order halal burritos. After a fundraising campaign by Zumbro, we were able to purchase a food truck and have continued providing burritos, extras from Channel One, and occasional donated fresh vegetables while creating relationships with our guests and community volunteers every Thursday for the last six years. In 2020, we also began providing weekly burritos to residents of The Francis apartments downtown. Open Table has also had occasional short-term partnerships to serve burritos with organizations such as Rochester Public Schools, The Salvation Army, Meadow Park Initiative, and The Homeless Coalition thru their annual Community Connect Program.
