Genesis 12:1-3

12 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

2 “I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”

There’s a lot of deep knowledge in this scripture, but the main focus for us today is that God promises Abram that if he trusts God to go to this new land, He (God) will bless Abram so that he (Abram) can be a blessing to “all peoples on earth.”

God promises us the same, but with a slight twist. When we follow God into the new spiritual land He has called us to, we are, in turn, called to be a blessing to all around us.

Heritage Fair Scarecrows – We Need Your Help!

As we prepare for the Heritage Fair, we’re getting ready to create our scarecrows—and we’d love your help gathering supplies!

Items Needed:
- Used or new long sleeve shirts & pants (children’s to adult sizes)
- Used or new pantyhose
- Used children’s one-piece sleepers
- Ball caps & hats

Tip: Keep an eye out at yard sales—many of these items can be found for free or at low cost!

We are also looking for:
- A pop-up tent (to borrow)
- Donated straw
- Volunteers to help at the Heritage Fair on Saturday, September 19th

Your support helps make this a fun and meaningful event for our church and community. Thank you for being part of it!

9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people who are God’s own possession.

The Church of the Brethren has long been vocal about being a “priesthood of all believers.” That doesn’t mean everyone gets up and preaches every Sunday. But it does mean that through the guidance and strength of the Holy Spirit, we all have a role in showing the Kingdom of God to those around us.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is a powerful reminder of the cost of freedom and the depth of love they carried for others.

As we gather with family and friends, may we also take a moment to reflect with gratitude and prayer for those who have served and for the families who carry their memory.
