Courage To Do What Is Right

Standing up for what is right is not always easy, especially when staying quiet would be more comfortable. God calls us to live with courage, speak the truth with love, and refuse to follow the crowd when it is heading in the wrong direction. You may not always receive praise for doing the right thing, but God sees your faithfulness. Ask Him to give you wisdom, strength, and kindness so that your stand points people toward Him instead of simply proving a point.

Bible Verse:

“Learn to do right; seek justice.”

Truly, this is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it! Today is an extra-special day because it is the day that Sister Renee Bryant was born!

We are truly blessed to have this wonderful Woman of God as a faithful member and disciple of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Richmond Hill, Georgia. Sister Renee is an inspiration to our entire congregation. Her motivation, determination, and unwavering faith remind us of the words found in Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Sister Renee truly lives out this scripture. Despite physical limitations, she continues to serve God and His people with joy, dedication, and a willing heart. As a member of our Usher Board, she is a delight to encounter when entering our sanctuary. Her warm and welcoming spirit helps everyone who walks through our doors feel right at home.

Whether assisting with our Food Give-Aways, Barbecue Dinner Sales, or other church activities, Sister Renee is always willing to lend a helping hand wherever she is needed. She serves with joy and demonstrates what it means to have a true servant’s heart.

Sister Renee, you are a light to Canaan Missionary Baptist Church and to the Richmond Hill community, and today we celebrate the blessing that you are!

Canaan Missionary Baptist Church would like to wish you a very Happy and Blessed Birthday! We pray that God continues to strengthen you, keep you, bless you, and grant you many more wonderful birthdays to come.

We love and appreciate you!

With love,
Pastor Terrence C. Riley & Your Canaan Missionary Baptist Church Family ❤️🙏🏾

On this date 29 years ago, Minister Listopher Ward and Sister Delphine Ward decided to “tie the knot,” and by the grace, love, and power of God, that knot is still tied today!

Canaan Missionary Baptist Church of Richmond Hill, Georgia, has been blessed to witness the beautiful love these two “love bugs” continue to demonstrate toward one another. Their marriage is a wonderful example of love, commitment, partnership, faithfulness, and service to God.

Minister Ward is an example of a devoted husband, father, and man of God. He provides for his wife and family and never hesitates to openly demonstrate his love and appreciation for Sister Ward. His love is not only spoken—it is shown through his actions.
Minister Ward is also a faithful and dedicated Servant of God who has been blessed with the ability to preach and teach the Word of God. He is the type of servant who leads by example. He does not seek to be served; instead, he finds joy in serving others.

“Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister…” — Matthew 20:28

Whether he is cleaning the church, cutting the grass, completing improvement projects, using his carpentry and electrical skills, or simply looking for something that needs to be done, Minister Ward continually demonstrates a true servant’s heart.

We will never forget the time the church air conditioner stopped working right before service. The ministers were dressed in white, but that did not stop Minister Ward! He went into the attic to address the problem without concern for getting his white suit dirty. That moment was yet another example of who he is—a servant who sees a need and is willing to do what is necessary to help.

And standing faithfully beside him is Sister Delphine Ward, who has also been an incredible blessing to Canaan. Sister Ward faithfully serves on the Usher Board and prepares meals for Sunday services and special evening services. She is also one of the coordinators of our Food Give-Away Ministry and prepares meals for our Hot Meal Give-Away, helping us extend the love of Christ beyond the walls of the church and into our community.

Sister Ward is dedicated, faithful, committed, and always willing to step forward whenever and wherever she is needed. She is truly someone who knows how to “grab the bull by the horns” and get the job done!

Together, Minister and Sister Ward are a beautiful example of what it means to be equally yoked. They love God, they love one another, and they share a genuine love for serving God and His people.

Their marriage reminds us that when two people keep God at the center of their union, they can serve together, grow together, overcome together, and continue loving one another through the years.

Minister Listopher and Sister Delphine Ward, as you celebrate 29 beautiful years of marriage, we want you to know how much you are loved and appreciated. We pray that God will continue to strengthen your marriage, bless your home, prosper the work of your hands, and allow you to celebrate many, many more beautiful anniversaries together!

May the knot you tied 29 years ago remain tied with faith, love, joy, commitment, and the unbreakable power of God!

With much love and many blessings,
Pastor Terrence C. Riley & Your Canaan Missionary Baptist Church Family

Truly, this is the day that the Lord has made; we shall rejoice and be glad in it!

On this special day, 17 years ago, Brother Nick and Sister Sharon joined their hearts and lives together by saying, “I Do.”

Today, Pastor Terrence C. Riley and the entire Canaan Missionary Baptist Church family of Richmond Hill, Georgia, joyfully wish this beautiful couple a Happy 17th Wedding Anniversary!

We are truly blessed to have Sister Sharon as a faithful disciple and member of Canaan. She is loving, kind, humble, and always willing to serve wherever she is needed. For many years, she demonstrated her love for God, her Pastor, and her church family by faithfully purchasing and preparing breakfast every Sunday morning at no cost to the church. Her generosity and servant’s heart have been a blessing to so many.

There have also been many times when Pastor Riley has called upon Sister Sharon to assist with urgent matters concerning the church, and without hesitation, she has stepped forward with a willing spirit and a heart to serve.
Although Brother Nick is not a member of Canaan, he has always been willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed.

Together, Brother Nick and Sister Sharon have been a beautiful example of love, commitment, partnership, and marriage—especially to our younger disciples. It is truly a blessing to witness the love they share: how Brother Nick lovingly cares for his wife and how Sister Sharon lovingly returns that same devotion and care to her husband.

As you celebrate 17 beautiful years of marriage, we pray that God will continue to strengthen your union, bless your home, deepen your love, and allow you to share many, many more wonderful years together.

Brother Nick and Sister Sharon, always remember that you are loved, appreciated, and celebrated by your Canaan family.

❤️ Happy 17th Wedding Anniversary! ❤️
With love and blessings,

Pastor Terrence C. Riley & Your Canaan Missionary Baptist Church Family

God Is Still Shaping You

It is easy to get discouraged when we look at how far we still have to go. We notice our mistakes, our weaknesses, and the ways we wish we were different. But God is not finished with us yet. He is patiently shaping our hearts, teaching us through every victory and every setback.

Just as a potter carefully molds clay into something beautiful, God is forming us into the people He created us to be. Instead of becoming frustrated with the process, trust the One who is doing the work. Every day you choose to follow Him, even in small ways, is another step toward becoming more like Christ. God sees the finished masterpiece even when all you can see is unfinished clay.

Bible Verse:

“Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.”
