Today we celebrate one of our “Deacons in Training,” Reginal Holloway!

Reginal is truly an asset to our church family. He consistently shows a willing heart by offering assistance wherever he is needed and to whoever may need help. His servant spirit, dedication, and love for others do not go unnoticed.
He also has a great zeal to learn, grow, and do God’s will, and we are grateful for the way he continues to serve with humility and faithfulness.

Please join us in wishing Reginal Holloway a very Happy Birthday! May God continue to bless him with wisdom, strength, favor, and many more joyful years to come.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting our freedom will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and loved ones, let us keep in our hearts the heroes who gave their all for this nation and lift up the families who continue to carry their legacy.

Canaan Missionary Baptist Church extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have served and those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. ❤️🤍💙

Patience While God Works

Patience is hard because most of us want answers, progress, and peace right now. But God often grows our faith in the waiting, not just in the receiving. When life feels delayed, it does not mean God has forgotten you. It may mean He is preparing something in you before He brings something to you. Trust His timing today, even when you cannot see the full picture. God is still working, and His timing is always better than our rush.

Bible Verse:

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Psalm 27:14

Guard Your Heart And Mind

The enemy loves to plant fear, doubt, insecurity, anger, and temptation in our minds before we ever bring our hearts to Jesus. That is why spending time with God matters so much. The more we fill our hearts with His truth, the easier it becomes to recognize the lies of the enemy. Jesus brings peace where the enemy brings confusion. He brings hope where the enemy brings fear. Every day we have a choice about what we allow to shape our thoughts and influence our hearts. Stay close to Jesus through prayer, worship, and His Word, because when your heart is anchored in Him, the enemy loses his grip on your mind.

Bible Verse:

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Proverbs 4:23

True Love Starts With God

The world talks a lot about love, but true love is more than feelings, attraction, or temporary happiness. Real love is patient when life gets hard, kind when people are difficult, forgiving when mistakes are made, and faithful even when it would be easier to walk away. The reason true love matters so much is because it reflects the heart of God. He loved us first, not because we earned it, but because that is who He is.

When we stay close to God, He teaches us how to love others with grace, honesty, compassion, and sacrifice. True love is not perfect because people are not perfect, but when God is at the center of it, love becomes stronger, deeper, and lasting.

Bible Verse:

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”

1 Peter 4:8
