On this World Clubfoot Day, we celebrate the lives transformed. Ghana is just one of the countries where Hope Walks treats children born with clubfoot. Great work is being done in this country, with more than 9,000 children enrolled since the program began in 2008. We are grateful for the work of our team in the field and our partner Christian Health Association of Ghana - CHAG. Happy World Clubfoot Day! https://www.gbcghanaonline.com/features/more-than-9000-ghanaian-children-treated-for-clubfoot/2026/

Our high school seniors received special blessings from Pastor Devin and the worshippers. Good lesson in the Home Makeover series, "The Needs of a Wife", delivered with humor. Looking forward to next week with the focus on what men need. A blessed day for sure!

One of our own! Well deserved.

This Thankful Thursday, Southwest Virginia Community College proudly recognizes Doug Branton for his tireless dedication and lasting contributions to our college and the wider community.

Doug began his journey at Southwest more than 30 years ago as a founding professor in the Fine Art - Crafts Department. Over the years, he has become a cornerstone of the program, inspiring students and enriching our community through both his artistic talent and commitment to service. Each year during the Festival of the Arts, Doug is honored with the Empty Bowls Lunch in recognition of his unwavering dedication to building and teaching the arts for students.

Even after more than three decades of service, Doug continues to give back in meaningful ways for the college and the community in his work with Citizens for the Arts, SWCC Educational Foundation, and countless other local arts organizations. Doug’s ceramics classes are one of the most popular classes for art majors and community members seeking personal satisfaction through art-making.

Southwest extends its deepest gratitude to Doug Branton for his remarkable legacy of service and for the continued impact he makes on our institution

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses." Acts 1:8
Pentecost Sunday was amazing. The fire, the wind, the celebration. But now it's Thursday, and regular life has resumed. So what does Pentecost mean for today?

Here's the truth: the Holy Spirit didn't just show up on one dramatic day 2000 years ago and then disappear. The Spirit is still here. Still moving. Still empowering. Still teaching. Still comforting. Still convicting. Still transforming.

The same Spirit who filled the disciples in the upper room wants to fill you today. The same power that emboldened Peter to preach is available to embolden you to witness. The same presence that guided the early church is ready to guide you.

Pentecost wasn't a one-time event. It was the beginning of the Spirit's ongoing work in and through God's people. Every day since then, the Spirit has been active - moving in ordinary people, doing extraordinary things, building the kingdom one transformed life at a time.

You don't need dramatic wind and fire to experience the Spirit's presence. You need openness. Willingness. A heart that says "Come, Holy Spirit. Fill me. Use me. Lead me."

The Spirit is here - not as a memory from the past, but as a present reality. Alive. Active. Waiting to empower you for whatever God is calling you to today.

Where do you need the Holy Spirit's power, wisdom, or comfort today? Ask Him. He's here.
