In 2010 we changed our name from “Lakeside Community Church” to “Center for Spiritual Living, Reno.”

We offer a practical spiritual teaching that draws on the wisdom of the ages and New Thought principles, in order to promote awakening and personal growth. With a variety of services available, Center for Spiritual Living, Reno meets the needs of families, singles, children, adults, and seniors. What does your soul really want to express?

That can be a powerful question—and sometimes a challenging one.

We may want Spirit to answer with a booming voice, a flashing sign, or a perfectly mapped-out plan. But often, guidance is much quieter than that.

Sometimes it arrives as a deep inner recognition:
Yes. That’s it.

Years ago, sitting by a window on a break from work, I asked Spirit, “What is my purpose? What am I here to do or to be?”

The answer I heard and felt was clear: Be a minister.

Something within me recognized the truth of it, and that knowing helped set the direction of my life.

Your calling may not come that dramatically. It may unfold slowly. It may have less to do with what you do and more to do with who you are being and what wants to be expressed through you.

So perhaps this week, give yourself a quiet moment and ask:
What does my soul really want to express?
Then listen.

Notice what brings that quiet inner response:

Come celebrate the unconditional love and joy our pets bring into our lives, meet local rescue groups, and connect with adoptable animals looking for their forever homes.

Dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, turtles, bunnies, lizards, and other beloved pets are welcome!

What if the person you are becoming is being created by the smallest choices you make every day?

Not one enormous decision. Not one great spiritual breakthrough. But millions of little choices.

Do I choose love over fear?

Abundance over scarcity?

Presence over distraction?

Peace over conflict?

Generosity over scarcity?

At first, those choices may require intention. We may have to stop and ask ourselves: “What is it that I choose today?”

But when we make the same life-giving choice again and again, something begins to happen.

Compassion becomes more natural.

Generosity becomes more natural.

Forgiveness becomes more natural.

Kindness becomes more natural.

Eventually, we are no longer simply choosing who we want to be. We are becoming that person.

Perhaps our destiny isn’t created in one dramatic moment.
Perhaps it is created through a million little choices. ❤️
