Our “Little Free ‘Faith’ Library” has been around for over 7 years now! Thanks again to Al Hillmer for his beautiful craftsmanship and to our faithful volunteers who keep it well stocked with books for the community to enjoy! There’s also now a nice bench in a shady spot next to it if you need a little rest on a hot day like today. Just like God’s grace, it’s always here for you!

Thanks to everyone who showed up and helped make Blessing Wednesday a huge success! To Rachel Kurtz, our Education Coordinators, our Congregational Life committee serving pizza, Scott our sound guy, and especially all the families and kids who brought the energy, thank you! We know it’s going to be a great year of Sunday School and faith formation. You’re all in our prayers as you go and live out your faith each and every day.

Outdoor worship with Rachel Kurtz begins at 5:30 this evening! Don’t forget to bring a blanket or lawn chair! Come early to claim your spot in the shade! There will also be all the blessings for backpacks and students and teachers and gifts of Bibles and pizza afterward and Sunday School registration and Confirmation orientation and acolyte training and all the things! We can’t wait to see you here!

In honor of our 100th Anniversary coming up on November 1, our centennial committee worked with Gloria Dei member Amanda Johanneck to create some awesome shirts and sweatshirts.

Rachel Kurtz is coming to Gloria Dei! In just over one week, on next Wednesday evening at 5:30 pm, we’ll be holding our last outdoor worship service of the summer! It will be “Blessing Sunday, now on a Wednesday,” where we will be blessing 3 year old’s starting Sunday School and giving them story Bibles, 3rd graders who will be receiving their Bibles, and 7th graders who will be starting Confirmation. We’re also going to be blessing Sunday School teachers, backpacks for kids going back to school, and all of our educators. There will also be pizza served after worship, Sunday School registration, Confirmation orientation, and acolyte training! And best of all: did I mention that the one and only Rachel Kurtz is going to be with us to provide music for worship?! You’ve maybe heard her perform at National Youth Gatherings and Junior High Youth Gatherings and all kinds of other gatherings of Lutherans over the years, and now’s your chance to come worship with her right here next week! It’s going to be a blast!
