One last full and fun Camp House day! We enjoyed time on the water again, games, pizza from the wood fired oven, worship, and a camp talent show, including some creative and funny skits from each of the cabins. At this point in the week, it’s always fun to see how they’re all just hanging out together instead of strictly in their church or even cabin groups. God has been up to good things with these campers, I think. We’ll be coming home tomorrow!

Wow! What a day at Camp House and on the North Shore! The day started foggy and a little dreary. As we explored Gooseberry Falls State Park in the afternoon, the sun came out and the temperature started to warm up. By the time we got back to camp, it was a perfect evening for some fun on the water, so the campers played “plunger wars” in canoes. After the most energetic worship service we’ve had so far (our boys’ cabin did a great job helping lead!), we’re headed to bed with Venus and Jupiter dancing close to one another over Lake George. We hope you had the chance to stop and appreciate the beauty of God’s creation today, too! Thanks for your ongoing prayers!

Our first full day at Camp House was relaxed and yet we did a lot! The rain kept us inside for a good chunk of the morning and early afternoon, but then we had time to tie dye and play games outside, as well as enjoy the lake and a campfire in the evening. I’m really impressed with our students. The girls’ cabin helped lead worship this evening and did very well. Everyone is participating and getting to know their fellow campers. Tomorrow we’ll be headed to Gooseberry Falls and Lake Superior! As always, we appreciate your prayers and support!

Late night update from Confirmation Camp at Camp House! We made it safely to camp and are getting settled in. The campers had a tour of the camp and orientation time, as well as a nice meal, a game to get to know one another, a snack of ice cream, evening worship, and devotions with their cabins and counselors. The weather is lovely, but there’s rain in the forecast for tomorrow. I guess we’ll just see what the rest of the week brings. One thing’s for sure: we’ll have the chance to disconnect from some things (like phones and electronic devices) so that we can reconnect with God, creation, and one another. So far so good, even as I’m sure it’s a bit out of their comfort zone at first. Thanks for your prayers and support of them!

Reminder: because of the holiday weekend, there is no Saturday evening worship today. We will have our usual Sunday morning worship at 10:00. We invite you to join us as we give thanks for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country and as we pray for peace throughout the world. We will be celebrating Pentecost Sunday and the gift of the Holy Spirit so be sure to wear red!

Our first outdoor worship service of the summer is this evening at 5:30 pm. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and join us on the southwest lawn of the church (301 N Lincoln). Refreshments will be served following the service. Let us give thanks on this beautiful day!
