What if you didn't need a passport to be on mission for God? In this message, Pastor Chris Bowlby shares fresh eyes from Crossing Church's Honduras missions trip with El Ayudante and turns the lens back on every believer's everyday life.
Drawing from the Great Commission in Matthew 28 and Acts 17:26, Pastor Chris unpacks what Jesus actually meant when He said "Go," revealing that the original language implies as you are already going, wherever your feet already take you. Your neighborhood. Your workplace. Your daily routine.
Through powerful stories from Honduras, including a sick man on his knees before God, a seven-year-old girl leading a stranger into her school, and a grandmother of 60 who spoke love across a language barrier, this message challenges two common lies: that mission is only for special trips, and that it's only for "super Christians." The disciples Jesus entrusted with the Great Commission were ordinary, doubting, failing people, just like us.
Perhaps most honestly, Pastor Chris confesses that he went to Honduras thinking he was bringing Jesus to the people there and came back realizing they showed him how to follow Jesus more closely.
Whether God is calling you across the world or across the street, this message is your reminder: you have already been ordained a missionary. The only question is where.

The pressure to work harder, provide more, and keep everything running is nothing new. Pastor Chris connects the ancient struggle of the Israelites to our modern hustle culture and lands on one simple truth: when the devil says prove yourself, Sabbath reminds us that God has already said everything there is to say.

The pressure to hustle, impress, and prove yourself is real. But Sabbath cuts through all of it. Swipe to see the 3 lies keeping you from rest and the one truth that sets you free.

Pastor Chris shares how Holy Saturday, the day Jesus rested in the tomb, is the most powerful Sabbath ever observed. While Jesus rested, God was literally recreating the world. A powerful reminder that God does His best work when we stop trying to do it ourselves.

In this Sunday's message, Pastor Chris Bowlby continues the series More Than You've Been Told, exploring the deep connection between Sabbath and identity. Using Matthew 4:3–10 as the primary text, Pastor Chris examines how Satan's temptations of Jesus in the wilderness were not attacks on His power or abilities, but direct attacks on His identity. Each temptation ("If you are the Son of God...") challenged Jesus to prove himself through self-provision, self-promotion, and self-achievement.

Pastor Chris draws a compelling parallel: these same three pressures, provide for yourself, do something impressive, and make something of yourself, are the very lies that make Sabbath feel impossible in our modern lives. We're too busy striving to stop.

But the fourth commandment, revisited in Deuteronomy, reveals that Sabbath isn't simply a rule. It's a gift designed to remind God's people of who they are. Just as the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt, Sabbath calls us to rest in the truth that we are no longer slaves to performance, comparison, or self-made worth. When Jesus declared "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath," He was returning the practice to its original purpose: a weekly, 24-hour rhythm of stopping, resting, delighting, and worshiping, anchored in the finished work of Christ.
