🎉 Afresh Family — Week 1 of school is officially in the books! 📚

Our kiddos stepped into this new school year with courage and joy. Games have started, backpacks are full, and God has been faithful every single morning.

And as we continue our Month of Starting Our Days in Prayer and in the Word, we speak Psalm 67:1–2 over our families:

“May God be gracious to us and bless us; may His face shine upon us, so that His ways may be known on earth, His salvation among all nations.”

Lord, thank You for covering our children, teachers, coaches, families, and our church. Thank You for meeting us each morning as we seek You first. Keep shining Your favor on this school year and on every home in our Afresh family.

Happy weekend, Afresh — keep starting your mornings with God. He’s moving. 💛🙏

Back‑to‑School Bash Blessings 🎉📚
What an AMAZING time we had yesterday at our Back‑to‑School Bash! The joy, the laughter, the games, the food, the fellowship — it was all such a beautiful reminder of what community looks like when we come together in love.

A huge THANK YOU to every volunteer, every helping hand, every person who planned, cooked, set up, cleaned up, and poured into our kids and families. You made today special.

As our children head into their first day of school tomorrow, we pray God’s covering over them — peace, confidence, protection, and joy. May they shine bright, learn boldly, and know they are deeply loved.

Afresh Church, yesterday was a blessing. Tomorrow will be too. 💛✨

I hope you all start your day in prayer with God. As you step into this new day, anchor your heart this verse from Psalm 139:14: “I praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and my soul knows very well.”

As you begin your morning with God, let this truth settle deep in your spirit. He crafted you with intention, purpose, and beauty — and He delights in every detail of who you are.

Daily Focus:
Speak life over yourself.
Thank God for the way He designed you.
Pray that He reveals the gifts He placed within you.
Ask Him to help you walk confidently in who He created you to be.

Share one thing God is showing you about your identity in Christ — post it, text it, journal it, or tell a friend. Let’s build each other up all month long.

You are wonderfully made. You are seen. You are loved. You are chosen.

Afresh family, we’re stepping into Week 2 of our August Challenge! Last week was all about building the habit — slowing down, praying first, and reaching up before anything else. This week, we’re leaning into consistency and expecting God to move as we meet with Him daily.

I hope you started your morning in prayer today. When we connect with God day after day, He strengthens us, guides us, and shapes our hearts in ways we can feel.

“My soul yearns for You in the night; in the morning my spirit seeks You.” — Isaiah 26:9

That’s our focus today — seeking Him in the morning, longing for Him throughout the day, and watching how He moves when we make space for Him.

Afresh, let’s keep reaching up. God moves when we seek Him daily.

DAY 2 — KEEP REACHING UP!

I hope you all started your day yesterday in prayer. Today we step into Day 2 of our August Monthly Challenge, continuing to build the habit of seeking God first.

Psalm 5:3 "In the morning, Lord, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait expectantly.

Morning Prayer
Lord, thank You for meeting me with new mercy today. I am asking You to help me make You the first priority of every day — every single morning before anything else. Cover our families, our schools, our teachers and students, and guide our church as we pray for our pastor and worship leader search. Draw us close to You. Amen.

Take a moment this morning to pause, breathe, pray, and spend time in the Word.

Let’s stay encouraged and keep reaching up.

🌎 Special Guest: Missionary Jordan Shaver

​Afresh Church, get ready! As part of his WV tour this month, Jordan Shaver is stopping by Ravenswood to share the incredible vision God has placed on his heart.
​Jordan is stepping out in faith to serve full-time in the Amazon jungle with Overland Ministry—living in Brazil for 10 months a year over the next 5 years to preach the Gospel and plant churches in remote river villages.
​
​Come out this Sunday at 10:30 AM to hear Jordan share the vision God has placed on his heart for the people of the Amazon. We will also be taking up a special offering to help fund his deployment and support his efforts.
