RCFirstUCC Rapid City's First Church First Congregational United Church of Christ was the first Christian congregation organized in Rapid City in 1878. (Gen.1:26).

We have served the community from four different buildings at three different addresses over the years. Our congregation has a strong emphasis on mission, outreach, and community service. We understand the historic creeds of the church to be testaments of faith not, tests of faith. Our community is open to differences in interpretation and understanding. We do not have to all be the same to share

in worship, education, and service. First Congregational United Church of Christ, Rapid City, South Dakota is an Open and Affirming (ONA) church, believing that each of us is created in God's image. We invite everyone of all ages, gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, races, nationalities, ethnicities, economic circumstances, abled or differently abled, faith backgrounds, marital statuses, or cultures to participate actively in our mission as we boldly proclaim "No Matter Who You Are or Where You Are on Life's Journey, You Are Welcome Here!"

Thanks to Hospitality and Christian Education for the amazing potluck spread at church yesterday! And thanks to the 8-ish families who came out to enjoy Placerville along with us! We loved every minute of the time hiking, playing games, making music in the chapel (thanks, Potts family), and seeing the “play” put on by the children.

For at least two families, it was their first time at the camp! What an adventure, and what a blessing to spend the day having fun and fellowship together in nature.

Join us at 13801 SD-44 from 2-6pm TODAY for lawn games, hiking, good conversation, and really good food. Plus, the 3rd-6th Grade Sunday Schoolers made bags of trail mix for each of us.
