MUSIC AT PENTECOST LUTHERAN CHURCH -- As many of you may already know, Pentecost Lutheran Church has a long history of including a variety of musicans and vocalists in its worship. Last Sunday, we heard Sofia Luxem sing a solo, while accompanying herself on ukulele, and the week prior to that we heard Marissa Retzlaff accompany a vocal ensemble with guitar at both the early and late worship services. During Lent, Tim Hasko finally broke out his bass clarinet for the first time during a midweek worship service. In addition, during this calendar year, we have incorporated organ, piano, keyboard, multiple flutes, clarinets, trumpets and trombones, baritone and euphonium in our worship services, as well as a multitude of vocalists. Shout out to all of the instrumentalists and vocalists who keep this proud tradition alive on a weekly basis!

BLOCK PARTY -- STUFFED ANIMALS DELIVERED -- Thank you to all who donated a new stuffed animal during this summer's Block Party. Pig, Moose and Kola, this year's Block Party Mascots, were dropped off -- with approximately 27 of their friends -- at the Racine Fire Department station downtown this weekend. The animals will be used as "comfort animals" by Racine Fire and Rescue personnel when times get tough for those affected by unfortunate events. Prayers are always good....but sometimes it does not hurt to have a furry friend as well. THANK YOU again, to everybody who donated!

YET NOT I, BUT THROUGH CHRIST IN ME (SUNDAY, AUGUST 23RD)

Need to get the choir song for Sunday, August 23rd stuck in your head? Well......here it is. We will be singing primarly in unison, with everybody singing verses 1 and 4 (and the chorus or refrain), women singing the second verson and men singing the third verse. A couple of voices may branch off in parts at times.....but that is purely optional. We will be singing in the front of the church with Marissa Retzlaff accompnying on guitar. We will be singing at the end of the 8:30 AM worship service and the beginning of the 10 AM worship service.

SNDAY MORNING WORSHIP (8/16/2026) — Glad you could join us!

PYTHON SOFTBALL -- From near gale force winds and rain at High Noon to a beautiful night for softball, the Pentecost Pythons softball squad, playing without six of their regular rostered players, closed out their season "with a little help from their friends." A four-run third inning and a six-run fifth inning helped the Snakes to a 12 - 7 victory in their final contest of the 2026 campaign. Four of the Python players also played a second game, after a one hour intermission as league rivals played, with a second victory narrowly escaping them in the bottom of the final inning. Another great season....with a great group of guys!
