Joshua 4:21-22a "And he said to the people of Israel, When your children ask their fathers in times to come, What do these stones mean? Then you shall let your children know."
Joshua set up a memorial in Gilgal. Twelve stones, one from each tribe, why? Because we forget and forgetfulness erodes faith. The 12 stones serve as reminder that God dried up the waters of the Jordan. Israel and us need reminders because we forget. All us do. God shows up in a time of great need. Then life gets comfortable and when another trial comes, we doubt, we forget. That's why we need reminders. We need our own stones of remembrance that reminds us of God's faithfulness. Maybe a jar of written prayer answered, a bracelet, a journal, a background photo on your phone home screen or a decoration in your home. Something you can look during season of struggle or doubt and remember that the Lord is faithful. We can trust Him. Remembrance strengthen faith. Build your memorial stones today.

Good morning from Memphis, TN
Daily devotional: Joshua 3:17
"Now the priest bearing the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firmly on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan, and all Israel was passing over on dry ground until all the nations finished passing over the Jordan"
It reminds us the crossing of the Red Sea in Exodus 14:22. The same God who spoke the world into existence parted the Red Sea and halted the Jordan. Israel new generation, forty years later, needed to be reminded of God's power. That the same God who delivered their previous generation from Egypt would give them the promise land. No walls or army or river could stop the Lord.
They needed to know and so do we. Our God is all-powerful and all-knowing. Whatever you're facing today or will face tomorrow, know this: dry grounds awaits. God is able. You can trust Him to provide a way forward. Jesus also crossed the river of death, the stone was rolled away and he walked on dry ground, so by believing in Him, we can walk on the dry ground of salvation and cross to the promise land in heaven.

On Sunday, we will be studying Joshua 3 and the crossing of the Jordan River. Joshua 3: 13 says "And when the soles of the feet of the priest bearing the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters coming down from above shall stand in one heap"
As soon as the priest's feet touched the edge of the river while carrying the ark of the covenant, the waters stopped and piled up in a heap.
Sometimes, God brings us to a point where we have no other option but to trust Him. This was one of those moments. The people crossed over on dry ground. Nothing is too hard for the Lord. "The hands of the Lord is mighty"(Joshua 4:24). Maybe today you're facing a flood of your own, an impossible circumstance. Hand it over to God. There is not river too deep or too wide for our God. He makes a way where there is no way. Step forward in faith. Trust Him with what's ahead.

Daily Devotional
Joshua 1:2a "Moses my servant is dead"
Have you ever pondered what people might say about you after you're gone?
Moses is "the servant of the Lord"
Joshua does not receive this title until after his death(Joshua 24:29)
What about you? What title are you striving for in your life? You can be a "servant of the Lord". Jesus said: "but whoever would be great among you must be your servant"(Matthew 20:26). Jesus exemplified perfect servant hood("the Son of man came not to be served but to serve" V. 28). Everyday, strive to be faithful servant of God and others.
