Brothers and Sisters:
On September 11, 2020 we received updated guidance from the First Presidency and Utah Area Presidency regarding church attendance. Per their direction, the Logan 5th ward will begin having weekly church meetings beginning Sunday September 20th. Here are some details you should be are of:
• If you are at high risk or are not comfortable attending at the chapel at this time, a broadcast option will be made available so you can participate from home.
o Please note, the broadcast will not include the administration of the sacrament. After the broadcast has ended, the sacrament will be administered to those attending at the chapel. Those participating from home, after the broadcast has ended, a worthy holder of the priesthood may administer the sacrament in the home. For those households without a holder of the priesthood, please reach out to Mike Morrill who will coordinate the administration of the sacrament for those families.
• The meeting/broadcast will remain 45 minutes long. As mentioned above, the sacrament will take place after the broadcast.
• The common areas of the building will be sanitized before and after our meeting.
• Masks and social distancing will be necessary as before.
• We will have seating set up in the foyer and the cultural hall as needed to accommodate the social distancing. We feel that most will be able to attend and social distance in the chapel.
• At the conclusion of the meeting, members should leave the building quickly and not visit in the chapel or the foyer.
The Area Presidency has also requested that we begin to hold the 2nd hour meetings virtually. These meetings will follow the same alternating pattern which was followed prior to the suspension of meetings due to the COVID pandemic. Sunday School will be on the first and third Sundays, the organization meetings on the second and fourth Sundays. Primary will NOT be held. Here are some details:
• We will be using Zoom to hold these meetings and you will be provided with the appropriate link to participate.
• Classes will be 40-45 minutes in length.
• Sunday School will be held as follows (first and third Sundays):
o 10:15-11:00 – Youth Sunday School (ages 11-17)
o 11:15 – 12:00 – Adult Sunday School Class
• Relief Society, Elder’s Quorum, Young Women/Young Men will be held as follows (second and fourth Sundays):
o 10:15 – 11:00 – Young Women/Young Men (combined)
o 11:15 – 12:00 – Relief Society
o 12:15 – 1:00 – Elders
We will begin holding 2nd hour classes on September 27th.
It will be important for ministering brothers and sisters to reach out to ensure that their brothers and sisters have access and the needed capability to participate. If not, we encourage you to prayerfully look for solutions, be it safely getting together for the virtual meeting, or some other means.
We look forward to these changes and the blessings that will come as we are able to meet more often. Please reach out to President Morrill, Sister Crane, or Bishop Cranney if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Logan 5th Ward Bishopric

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
Logan Utah Central Stake

The First Presidency has now authorized some church meetings and activities to resume on a limited basis, using a careful, phased approach. In particular, sacrament meetings may resume as long as they are held in a cautious, and carefully planned and coordinated manner based on local government regulations. In accordance with the guidelines provided by the First Presidency and as directed by the Utah Area Presidency, the Logan Central Stake will resume holding sacrament meetings starting on Sunday, June 14, 2020.

In order to adhere to government guidelines and to proceed in a cautious, careful manner, the number of people who attend a sacrament meeting in the Logan Central Stake will be limited. Therefore, wards and branches may need to hold multiple sacrament meetings. In the Logan Central Stake, each ward or branch will be assigned to a specific Sunday of each month to hold their sacrament meetings. Specifics for your ward/branch regarding which Sunday of the month to attend and what time to attend an assigned sacrament meeting are provided on the following page.

Sacrament meetings are being resumed to allow all members the opportunity to partake of the sacrament at least once each month. Until directed otherwise, these sacrament meetings will be less than 45 minutes in length. The following is an outline of how sacrament meetings will proceed:
● Welcome and announcements
● Opening hymn
● Opening prayer
● Ward/Branch business
● Sacrament hymn
● Administration of the sacrament
● Speaker - approximately 10 minutes
● Closing hymn
● Closing prayer
● Members will then be dismissed to return to their homes. No other Sunday meetings will be held at this time (e.g. Relief Society, Priesthood, YW/YM, Primary, etc.)

After each sacrament meeting, designated ward/branch members will clean and sanitize all frequently contacted surfaces in the meetinghouse (eg. door k***s, sacrament trays, restrooms, drinking fountains, etc.) before the next sacrament meeting is held.

We are grateful for the faith of the members of the Logan Central Stake and your kind support as we implement guidelines that will allow us to again worship the Savior Jesus Christ together.

Sincerely,

The Logan Central Stake Presidency
