The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
Logan Utah Central Stake
The First Presidency has now authorized some church meetings and activities to resume on a limited basis, using a careful, phased approach. In particular, sacrament meetings may resume as long as they are held in a cautious, and carefully planned and coordinated manner based on local government regulations. In accordance with the guidelines provided by the First Presidency and as directed by the Utah Area Presidency, the Logan Central Stake will resume holding sacrament meetings starting on Sunday, June 14, 2020.
In order to adhere to government guidelines and to proceed in a cautious, careful manner, the number of people who attend a sacrament meeting in the Logan Central Stake will be limited. Therefore, wards and branches may need to hold multiple sacrament meetings. In the Logan Central Stake, each ward or branch will be assigned to a specific Sunday of each month to hold their sacrament meetings. Specifics for your ward/branch regarding which Sunday of the month to attend and what time to attend an assigned sacrament meeting are provided on the following page.
Sacrament meetings are being resumed to allow all members the opportunity to partake of the sacrament at least once each month. Until directed otherwise, these sacrament meetings will be less than 45 minutes in length. The following is an outline of how sacrament meetings will proceed:
● Welcome and announcements
● Opening hymn
● Opening prayer
● Ward/Branch business
● Sacrament hymn
● Administration of the sacrament
● Speaker - approximately 10 minutes
● Closing hymn
● Closing prayer
● Members will then be dismissed to return to their homes. No other Sunday meetings will be held at this time (e.g. Relief Society, Priesthood, YW/YM, Primary, etc.)
After each sacrament meeting, designated ward/branch members will clean and sanitize all frequently contacted surfaces in the meetinghouse (eg. door k***s, sacrament trays, restrooms, drinking fountains, etc.) before the next sacrament meeting is held.
We are grateful for the faith of the members of the Logan Central Stake and your kind support as we implement guidelines that will allow us to again worship the Savior Jesus Christ together.
Sincerely,
The Logan Central Stake Presidency
