📣 HTI is pleased to share an upcoming bilingual, international virtual lecture series hosted by Claremont Graduate University (CGU)!

Join scholars from across the Americas on December 3–4, 2026, for “Approaches to Religion in América: Themes, Analysis, and Projections,” a two-day series exploring the historical, cultural, social, and political dimensions of religion throughout the Americas.

Organized and moderated in part by current HTI scholar Stephanie Valeska López Griswold, the series will include HTI graduate Dr. Felipe Hinojosa, alongside seven other distinguished scholars, examining topics ranging from Latine religious activism and social justice to religious pluralism, secularization, Indigenous histories, and the intersection of religion and politics.

💻 Format: Virtual via Zoom and YouTube

We encourage the HTI community, scholars, and colleagues to participate in this opportunity for meaningful scholarly engagement and international dialogue!

On October 12, Princeton Seminary will host the 2026 Herencia Lectures: “A Prophetic Challenge to the Church: Dr. Luis N. Rivera Pagán’s Legacy in Latin America and World Ecumenics.” This year’s gathering will honor the life, scholarship, and lasting contributions of Dr. Luis N. Rivera Pagán.

The evening will bring together scholars and community members for worship, dinner, and theological reflection on Dr. Rivera Pagán’s legacy and his contributions to Latin American and global ecumenical thought.

📚 Re-Inventing Church History in the Américas

Join HTI Graduate and award-winning author Dr. João B. Chaves for the 2026 Mary Washburn Wilson Lectures at Gardner-Webb University on October 27.

Through two lectures, Dr. Chaves will explore the histories and influence of Christian missionary movements from the United States in Latin America, while inviting audiences to consider questions of power, dissent, faith, and public life across the Américas.
