Update on Sarah Burchett from her Mom, Jaime Burchett:

We are bustin’ out of here and heading home!!! Thanks be to God! 🙌

Sarah has been watching videos, looking at pics, and reading messages from everyone. All of them have brought a smile to her face and she says that there’s a million people who love her 💞

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Your kindness, encouragement, and prayers have brought comfort and strength when we needed it most. We are truly grateful for every message, call, and act of kindness.

Update on Sarah Burchett

We are excited to share a few updates about Sarah. She is improving everyday. She is now breathing on her own and able to whisper and will be trying to walk more today.

She is coughing up blood and gunk from her lungs and that will continue probably for at least 6 to 8 weeks according to the doctor, and she is being treated with antibiotics because they're very concerned that she may get pneumonia. Jackson is doing great and is going to see her today. He's taking some of her favorite toys and thinks he can be sweet to her for at least a month.

Thanks for asking about her, we appreciate all the prayers and well wishes, God has blessed us with lots of prayerful and comforting friends and family! Our church family has been awesome!

Sarah has been extubated and is doing very well. Thank you all for your prayers and support. Please continue to pray for her as she recovers!

Please pray for Sarah Burchett, Andrew's daughter. She had a drowning episode today (Saturday), and she's at Cabell Huntington. On a ventilator. Concerned about dry-land drowning, which is a secondary response to drowning in children. She just turned 9.

We have a lot of people to thank and some updates to share.

First I want to thank God for keeping our daughter Sarah safe and seeing her through this horrible event.

We want to thank the people who were at our house yesterday, Chas and Amanda Harmon, who helped us tremendously in an emergency situation, and all the kids who listened and help us do what needed to be done. We want to thank the Prestonsburg EMS crew who got to our house very quickly and did a fantastic job. We want to thank the crew at the Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center ER including Dr. Andrew Mutiso and Dr. Karen Gooslin for stabilizing our daughter. Thank you to Father Eric Ndubuisi for coming to the ER and praying for our daughter. We want to thank the amazing flight crew who did an outstanding job getting our daughter to Cabell Huntington Hospital. We want to thank all of the staff at Cabell who have been amazing.

Lastly we want to thank all of you for your outpouring of prayers and support. It has been felt and it is working!

Sarah has been through a lot but she is doing amazingly well. She remains on a ventilator but her need for it is decreasing. She is able to follow commands and communicate, and she had a normal brain MRI today. We are very hopeful for a full recovery. She is on the right track but not quite out of the woods. Please continue to pray for our daughter and family. It is very much appreciated! We love you all and our community and we are so thankful for your support.
