If you have plants or hanging baskets at the cemetery, the
water tank has been filled. The tank is right by the office building. Please use the black hose. There is a watering can there too, just put it back when you are done using it. 🙂

Thank you Terry Lawrence for your donation of PVC pipe. It is greatly appreciated! Flowers and other items need to be at least 8" above the ground for lawn mowing and trimming. I have walked around the cemetery and placed flowers in pipe that were ground level. Many people don't know this is a rule. I would encourage people to read the cemetery rules at Evergreen and at other cemeteries that they visit. After my last post, I noticed many families took care of elevating their decorations this year. A sincere thank you. Any questions or concerns, please contact me.

I received a couple comments from folks not knowing about the rules at the cemetery. Most cemeteries have some sort of rules. There are signs posted at the entrances of Evergreen Cemetery. There are rules posted on the west side of the cemetery office. I have my contact information and business cards on the door of the office. We have a spring and a fall clean up at the cemetery. We ask that all the decorations are removed during that time. This is done so that floral displays are not faded and tattered. Clean up time gives family members the opportunity to pick up the things they want to save and use again. The cemetery association puts an add in the Courier Press notifying people of the cleanup. We also post on this page. Volunteers from the Board of Directors clean up the cemetery twice a year. We do the best we can. If you have any questions, please reach out to me. Thanks, Lisa

Some examples of using PVC pipe to elevate flowers 8 inches off the ground for mowing and trimming. I am hoping to have some extra PVC pipe by the office for families to use.

We will have non-potable water available at the cemetery if you choose to use a flower pot on a stake with real plants.

Please remember when placing decorations/flowers/solar lights by your loved ones graves that everything needs to be 8 inches off the ground. This rule is going to be strictly enforced this year and items that do not meet the 8 inch criteria will be removed. Items close to the ground hinder the mowing and trimming operation. The wires from the flowers get caught in the trimmers and the tchotchkes on the monuments get blown off. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and help keeping the cemetery looking nice!

Spring Cleanup is Saturday, April 25th, 2026!!
Please remove all decorations/flowers from gravesites prior to that date or they will be discarded. Decorations may be placed on gravesites again on or after May 2nd 2026. Thank you for your cooperation.

Prairie du Chien Cemetery Association will hold Annual and Regular Meetings, Wednesday March 11th, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.

Meeting will be held at the Crawford County Administration Building, 225 N. Beumont Rd, Prairie du Chien.

1st Floor off of Main St, by Veteran's Office, Room 130

NOTICE: FALL CLEAN UP!! PLEASE share this information with friends and family that may take care of grave sites at the cemetery.

Evergreen Cemetery fall clean up is Saturday, October 11, 2025. Please have all of your cemetery decorations removed from grave sites by dusk on Friday, October 10th, 2025 or they will be discarded.

Decorations can be placed back on grave sites on Sunday, October 19th, 2025. Remember flowers need to be 8 inches above the ground.

The cemetery was mowed on Monday. It looks very nice! Just a reminder that graveside flowers and decorations need to be 8 inches off the ground. If you have any questions, please let me know.
