Greater Seacoast Salvation Army The Salvation Army: Doing the Most Good® in the New Hampshire Seacoast from Seabrook to Kittery Maine In April 2016, all religious, worship, etc.

In 2014, The Salvation Army of Northern New England conducted a needs assessment to determine how we can best serve the people of New Hampshire’s Seacoast. The assessment indicated that the potential of service could be greatly enhanced if we explored ways to combine the best of the Portsmouth Corps' and the Hampton Corps' services in the community, strategically implementing actions that will hel

p the Salvation Army meet the physical and spiritual needs of the Seacoast community in a more powerful way than ever before. In 2016, the merger was announced and work to consolidate the two Corps began. Combined worship services and various other activities began in September 2016 alternating between the Portsmouth and Hampton campuses. activities where unified as the Greater Seacoast Corps. Social, emergency, and community services will continue at both locations until a new unified facility is established.

In a recent message to Salvationists in Canada and Bermuda, General Lyndon Buckingham reminded us that the Church was never meant to stand still.

“An army on the move. An army so convinced about the reality of who Jesus is that it cannot stand still.”

As followers of Christ, we are called to gather in worship, encourage one another in faith, and move outward into our communities with compassion, hope, and the love of Jesus. May our corps continue to be places where people encounter Christ and experience the transforming power of the gospel.
