“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7
Grace and Glory (formerly Redeeming Grace Fellowship) is a reformed, baptist, new covenant church. We seek to glorify and enjoy our great God and Savior Jesus Christ in all of life, concentrating on the simplicity of worship and the t
ruth of God’s Word. Our church plant was birthed out of two churches in Texas, Grace Community Church in San Antonio, and Providence Chapel in Denton. Jeff Hebert was our founding pastor from 2019-2021. Sam Caldwell is an elder-in-training who is currently preaching on Sundays. We are praying for God to raise up and establish a plurality of elders in the very near future. As a church, we strive to be Christ-exalting and faithful to Scripture in the following ways:
Worship: We desire to come together corporately with hearts overflowing in thankfulness for all God has done for us in Christ. “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise” (Psalm 100:4). The Word: Just as the early church “continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine” (Acts 2:42), so we desire that our services would be centered around the preaching and teaching of the Word. Prayer: “Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving” (Colossians 4:2). We meet weekly for prayer at the church on Wednesday evenings at 6pm. Fellowship: The Lord has so composed His kingdom that we are not to be “lone ranger” Christians but rather be a part of a body of believers. We desire to honor the Lord and serve one another through “exhorting one another daily” (Hebrews 3:13), and by “bearing one another’s burdens, and so fulfilling the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). Evangelism: We desire to fulfill the Great Commission through reaching out to the Portland community, and through support of foreign missions. “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Matthew 9:37-38). “Praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ” (Colossians 4:3).
