When a Voice Becomes Its Own

You find truth when you speak yours.
Perhaps because honesty
clears a path through the noise
of expectation, fear, and performance.
So much of life asks people
to reshape themselves
into something easier to accept.
Yet the soul recognizes truth in the moments
when a voice becomes fully its own.
Even imperfectly spoken truth feels
like a window opening
in a crowded room.
Something begins to breathe again.
There is relief in no longer turning away
from what lives quietly within.
Words spoken from that place
seem to gather their own light,
the way certain stones
continue holding warmth
long after sunset.
And perhaps this is why
truth matters so deeply:
to remain connected
to the living center
of your own heart.
