Join us this Sunday, November 1, for All Saints’ Sunday. We will give thanks for the saints who have gone before us in Christ: not only the well-known heroes of the faith, but the grandparents, parents, spouses, children, and friends whose quiet faithfulness shaped our lives. It is a joyful reminder that we belong to a larger spiritual family, connected across time by God’s grace.

During worship, each family is invited to light up to two candles in memory of loved ones who have died. We warmly encourage you to make your candle personal by decorating it with a name, a favorite color, a photo, or a symbol of the one you are remembering. You are welcome to bring your own 10-inch taper candle, or pick one up from the parish office during the week of October 26. We will also have plenty of candles on hand Sunday morning, so no one will be left out.

Mark your calendars! A Slice of Gratitude returns this fall. Join us between the 9:00 and 11:00 services for pie, refreshments, and fellowship as we give thanks together for the many blessings of this past year.

Our pie making contest is back, too. Last year’s entries were wonderful in variety, flavor, and design, and we can’t wait to see what our bakers create this time. Start dreaming up your recipes now!

St. Francis in-the-Field Episcopal Church has become aware of social media posts advertising a pumpkin patch, fall farmers market, and craft market at or near our Hope Pavilion. We want to be clear: St. Francis and our Hope Pavilion is not hosting, sponsoring, or affiliated with any of these events, and none will take place at the Hope Pavilion this weekend or on any future weekend. The Hope Pavilion is temporarily closed due to construction.

If you are a merchant who has made a reservation or payment for one of these markets, please know that St. Francis and our Hope Pavilion has not received your reservation or funds; please contact the organizer directly with any questions. We are sorry for the confusion this has caused, and we are grateful for your understanding.

If you are new to St. Francis, or simply curious to go deeper, St. Francis 101 is the best way to understand who we are as a parish. Over four Sunday mornings, we will explore who we are, how we worship, where you can connect, and how we live our faith through service. Children are warmly included rather than set aside, with their own gathering each week designed just for them. The series concludes with a Liturgy of Belonging during worship, welcoming participants into the full life of the parish.
