The St. Vincent de Paul Society Conference at St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Nocatee is a Catholic lay ministry serving our neighbors in need with compassion, dignity, and love. Guided by our faith and inspired by St. Vincent de Paul, our Vincentian members grow spiritually by answering Christ’s call to serve the poor. Through personal, one-on-one assistance, we help individuals and families

facing difficult circumstances, offering practical support, prayer, and hope. We serve all people regardless of background, using local resources to help our local community. Need help? Finding Christ in Our Neighbor

One of the most profound teachings of St. Vincent de Paul is beautifully simple:

"Go to the poor. You will find God."

These words remind us that serving those in need is not merely an act of charity—it is an encounter with Christ Himself.

Every home visit, every phone call, every grocery delivery, and every conversation with a struggling neighbor is an opportunity to live the Gospel.

When we meet someone facing hardship, we don't see a problem to be solved. We see a person created in God's image, deserving of respect, compassion, and hope.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has embraced this mission for nearly 200 years, serving neighbors with humility, friendship, and love.

Our volunteers often discover that they receive as much as they give. The courage, resilience, and faith of the people we meet inspire us to become better disciples.

As Catholics, we are called not only to attend Mass on Sunday but also to carry Christ's love into our community throughout the week.

Serving Christ by Serving Our Neighbors

Our mission is simple: To see Christ in every person we meet.

We assist individuals and families experiencing temporary hardships by providing help with necessities such as:

• Rent assistance
• Utility bills
• Food
• Transportation
• Furniture
• Household essentials
• Referrals to community resources

Unlike many organizations, our volunteers don't just write checks—we visit people in their homes, listen to their stories, pray with them if they wish, and walk beside them with compassion and dignity.

Every person we serve is someone's neighbor, someone's parent, someone's grandparent, or someone's child.

We believe no one should have to face hardship alone.

Over the coming weeks, we'll share stories about our ministry, explain how we serve our community, and highlight ways you can become part of this mission.

Serving veterans is one way we honor those who served us. Through monthly Bingo events, fellowship, and support, SVdP volunteers help bring joy and connection to veterans living in care facilities. 🇺🇸

One of the greatest blessings of being a Vincentian is discovering that Home Visits change us, too.

Through each visit, Vincentians encounter Christ in those we serve, gain a deeper appreciation for their own blessings, and build meaningful human connections rooted in compassion and dignity. Home Visits remind us that charity is not just about providing assistance — it is about listening, understanding, and walking alongside our neighbors in hope.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s Home Visit ministry transforms both the person receiving help and the person offering it.

At the heart of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul lies something truly unique: the Home Visit.

Unlike many charitable organizations, SVdP volunteers don’t simply provide assistance from behind a desk or through an application process. We go to our neighbors — sitting with families in their homes, listening to their stories, understanding their struggles, and offering support with dignity, compassion, and friendship.

The Home Visit is more than delivering food, rent assistance, or utility help. It is a personal encounter rooted in respect and human connection. It reminds those facing hardship that they are not alone, forgotten, or judged.

For more than 190 years, this personal, face-to-face ministry has been the hallmark of Society of St. Vincent de Paul — neighbors helping neighbors with compassion, humility, and love.

As Vincentians, the members of the St John Paul II Conference believe that every knock on a door is an opportunity to bring hope.

People may not realize that while our base of operations is in Nocatee, we service the entirety of zip code 32081. During our last fiscal year October 2024 thru September 2025, we made 58 visits to neighbors in need in our service area.

During that time, we provided the following financial assistance to our neighbors in need in zip code 32081 (Ponte Vedra) and an adjacent small section of 32258.

Utilities $7,720.56
Misc $3,093.38
Total $48,840.67
