"Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength. Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens" (Eph. 6:10-11).

Did you know that Satan never sleeps? He is always using every moment and every tool in his arsenal to destroy your life and to hinder the kingdom of God. The way he works is so deceptive that you often do not notice the harm he has caused until it is too late. That is why you must be alert at all times and battle ready by putting on the full armor of God and being fervent in prayer.

We cannot afford to be reactive against the schemes of the devil but must instead be proactive. The battle we are fighting is too important. Though the good news is that we do not take the battle field alone. The Lord God joins us which means that there is victory to be won... but you must be willing to fight.

How often do you pray for your church and the kingdom of God?
How often do you pray for your pastor?
How often do you pray for your family?
How often do you pray for your nation?
How often do you pray for yourself as a disciple of Christ?
How often do you pray for the souls of others?

The wonderful thing about prayer is that God listens and He cares. Satan is terrified of the name of Jesus Christ (Js. 4:7) and thus he along with his ilk retreat when a child of God rebukes him in the name of Jesus.

Let us not become too comfortable in our faith or walk with Christ. Instead let us be prayer warriors who give no quarter or foothold into the things we value to Satan for we are at war. If we trust in God, and draw near to God everyday, then the victory is already ours.

Trinity was decorated beautifully for our Pentecost service as we celebrated the Holy Spirit! How fitting to have people like Carolyn Costen Hartenbach and Linda Trent to do this important work given that such talent is a gift from the Holy Spirit (Exod. 31:1-11). May we continue to worship and praise the Holy Spirit as the Third Divine Person in the Godhead. Amen!
