Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸

Today we give thanks for the work of our hands, the gifts we share, and the people whose labor strengthens our communities each day.

We also remember that God calls us not only to work, but to rest—to make space for renewal, joy, family, and the things that restore our souls.

May this Labor Day bring gratitude for meaningful work, compassion for those who struggle, justice and dignity for every worker, and rest for all who are weary.

Bless the work of our hands, O God, and teach us the grace of rest. ❤️

On Saturday, September 26, Lynnewood UMC will partner with Rise Against Hunger to prepare meals for communities facing hunger. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, including elementary-aged children accompanied by a parent.

Choose the shift that works best for you:

• First shift: 9:00–11:00 AM
• Second shift: 11:30 AM–1:30 PM
• Setup team: Beginning at 8:00 AM

We especially need setup volunteers who can lift 50-pound bags of rice. Sign up online using the registration link and select your preferred shift.

Come spend a few hours serving alongside your Lynnewood community as we work together toward our goal of 20,000 meals!

A new Women at the Well study begins Wednesday, September 9!

Join us as we explore Philip Yancey’s The Bible Jesus Read: Why the Old Testament Matters. Together, we’ll take a fresh look at the Old Testament and discover how its stories, questions, and promises continue to deepen our understanding of Jesus and shape our faith today.

Women at the Well meets Wednesdays from 9:30–11:30 AM. Come for thoughtful conversation, meaningful connection, and the opportunity to grow alongside other women. All are welcome!
