1 God. 17 transformed hearts.

Baptism is a beautiful representation of the inward transformation that happens when we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior. By God’s saving grace, our old life is washed away, and we stand in a new life of abundance. Recently, we had the privilege of baptizing 17 Urban Impact students at Allison Park Church (North Side campus). It was a blessing to watch these young men outwardly express their commitment to follow Jesus. As we disciple our students and teach about baptism, we pray for these moments when they make this personal decision to deepen their faith.

This is discipleship at its core. Urban Missionaries, Grace and Audrey, are currently leading a group of their UI Dance girls through the Book of Luke. This weekly Bible study provides a beautiful space for each of the students to grow deeper in their understanding of scripture and sharpen one another in their faith outside of program.

One of the students said, “If I would’ve just read this by myself, they would’ve just been a bunch of words that I wouldn’t have understood or cared about. But now that we’re reading it together, I actually understand what’s going on.” We praise God for the ways He is opening doors for our students to draw closer to Him.

During the school year, our Early Impact team taught our preschool students about the Fruits of the Spirit. By the end of the year, they memorized Galatians 5:22 and learned how each fruit leads us to become more Christ-like. To celebrate our preschool students graduating to the next grade level, we wanted to know their favorite Fruit of the Spirit, even if they first just shared the fruit that they love to eat. What a joy it has been to watch our students grow in their love for Jesus and His Word

The Nexus Legacies short film was incredible! Hands down the best premiere yet. We’re proud of all our students who played a role in creating this film, whether they starred in it, operated the cameras, captured behind-the-scenes footage, and more.

Thank you to everyone who came to the premiere in support of the UI Media and Bamboo Productions cast and crew. Our team was blown away by the enthusiasm and love that filled the theatre. We praise God for His blessings and for providing the opportunity to show this film to all of you, as so many of you came alongside us to make it happen!

We’re not done yet! Save the date for June 27th for our SECOND premiere. Tickets will be available soon, so stay tuned for more details. You don’t want to miss this.

Everything we do in our lives should be an act of worship to the LORD. This truth is what propelled the Options Department to create Work as Worship, a program designed to teach our high school students the value of stewarding their time, talents, and treasures to glorify God. In this class, students learn the importance of tithing, how to shine the light of Jesus in their workplace, and why God calls us to work, among other Biblical lessons. By the end of the semester, our students walk away knowing how to develop daily habits that honor God.

Though this is just a glimpse of our ministry, we have the privilege of reaching over 2,400 students in 60+ programs with the good news of the gospel. Our programs are more than just after-school activities; they are opportunities to invest in the lives God has called us to disciple. In everything we do, we give God the glory.

“Shout to the LORD, all the earth; break out in praise and sing for joy!” (Psalm 98:4 NLT)
🎶
Choir is where it all started. Over the last 30 years, our students and missionaries have gathered with one another to lift their voices on high, singing praises to God. This program provides beautiful opportunities for us to bless the community and churches across the city with the good news of the gospel through song. As our students learn new worship songs, they not only grow stronger in their vocal skills but are also constantly memorizing scripture. Before our students step on stage to perform, we guide them to fully understand the truth of God’s Word behind every lyric they sing.
