Received this from our sister church in La Palmilla, Mexico

This is an official statement from the Methodist Church of Mexico, “Príncipe de Paz” Temple in La Palmilla, Tlapacoyan, Veracruz, dated August 25, 2026.
Here is the English translation:

STATEMENT TO OUR COMMUNITY
Once again, our church has been the victim of a robbery. The incident occurred on Monday, August 24, 2026. This time, instruments that we use for our ministry of worship and to serve God and our community were stolen:
Gray Kurzweil musical keyboard, 61 keys
Black Korg TR musical keyboard, 5 octaves
White and black Fender electric guitar
Red and white Ibanez Gio electric guitar
Black Back Stage audio mixing console, 8 channels

As a church, we have done what is our responsibility: the incident has already been reported to the authorities. We raise our voices because we believe in justice, and we hope that the matter will be investigated and handled according to the law. But we also want to say something more: We will not allow the darkness to cause us to stop being a light.

These events hurt us. They anger us. They challenge us as a community of faith and as a society. But as the Church of Jesus Christ, we will not respond with hatred or revenge. We will continue preaching the Gospel, serving our community, and working so that the Kingdom of God continues to be visible here in La Palmilla.

Darkness may appear to be gaining ground, but the Church has not been called to hide when darkness comes, but rather to shine with even greater faithfulness.

We pray for our community and also for those who committed these acts. We ask God to touch their hearts, grant them repentance, and transform their lives. We do not only want to recover what they took; we want Christ to transform lives.

As the Methodist Church “Príncipe de Paz” of La Palmilla, we will continue moving forward with God’s help: faithfully preaching the Gospel, serving, worshiping, and working for the common good.

Thank you to everyone who helped out cleaning 18 N Oak on Saturday. We were able to get the first floor done and half of the 2nd floor. One more morning and we will have it finished. If you're available to help, let me know. Next date is 8/29 at 10 am.

The Pitman United Methodist Church is looking to borrow a drum set for a few months. Probably till the end of the year. Electronic drums would be even better. If you have a set lying around that no one is using, we would like to borrow them for a few months.

Hey all, we are getting ready to have some new people living in18 N Oak Ave and we need a few people to help with cleaning the house. If you can help, let me know.

The carpets are being cleaning on Monday, so anytime after that we should be good. It is general cleaning, dusting, mopping, etc.

Plans have been finalized for this summer’s Pitman Camp Meeting. The flyers are now available in the PUMC narthex and the full schedule will soon be posted on the PUMC website. This series of 7 evening worship services will begin on July 12 (they begin at 7:30 PM and are held in the Pitman Grove Auditorium). PUMC will be the host church on August 9; Pastor Mike will give the message and the PUMC praise team will lead the music.

These services are a great way to end your summer sabbath days. They “bookend” your morning’s worship with your local church with an evening’s worship with the community.
