We had a great day of worship and cultural learning today. We started our day by traveling to Zuni Pueblo to worship at a church on the Zuni reservation. While most of the service was in English, there were a few prayers and readings done in the Zuni language.
After church we had the privilege of meeting with the principal of a Christian mission school next door to the church. He shared their mission of reaching the community with the Gospel through incorporating Christ into all that they teach. But he was also able to give us great insight into the cultural and religious practices of the Zuni.
From there we headed to El Morro National Monument, where we had a picnic lunch and then took on a 2-mile hike to the top of the El Morro bluff where we saw some of the remains of the adobe dwellings in the area. Along the way were many inscriptions and petroglyphs from ancient tribes and early travelers through the area.
Tomorrow it’s back to work on the roof! Thanks for praying as we serve this community, and as we learn about the culture and what it means to point to Jesus in this region!

Another day down with so much to thank the Lord for! While working our way up the roof with shingles this morning, we were blessed with a light breeze and encouraging attitudes as well as the helpful hands of Donovan and James from Rehoboth. After work, we went to the Flea Market in Gallup to eat lunch. What a gift we have been given in frybread! After eating and shopping, we returned home for an afternoon of relaxing fellowship time. As we head into our evening meeting and wrap up the day, we are thanking God for all He has given us and all He will continue to pour out on us this trip. Thank you, Jesus!

As we go out on our mission trips in 2026 we are celebrating 40 years of TFC mission trips! Here are some pictures from the very first trip to Cary, MS in 1986. So many memories from those early years! Do you know any of the people in these pictures? Some of the staff members are still staff members 40 years later and some of the teens are now staff members or supporters of the TFC ministry today. Some are also parents who have had children who have gone on TFC mission trips or are even on a trip this year. TFC is truly a multi-generational disciple-making ministry! Join us in celebrating 40 years of mission trips and pray for the teams as they serve this year!

First day of work is in the books! After breakfast and devotions, our team started on our main project for the week - shingling the Fellowship Hall. Today, we removed all the shingles and placed the underlay on one of the four sides. The Good Lord clearly knew we would be spending plenty of time on the roof, the weather this week is supposed to stay in the 70’s and 80’s! Thank you for all the prayers, and please continue to pray for us as we continue to glorify God in all that we do!

And finally, after 11 hours of driving, we’ve safely made it to our home for the week at Rehoboth. Thank you for the prayers! The road trip was filled with laughter, singing and looking at the deep red and tan landscape of the New Mexico mountains. First we stopped at Walmart to buy some groceries for the week. Then, we packed into our rooms and began winding down as we start to get ready for our first day of shingling tomorrow. As we prepare for jobs, please pray that we would be protected from the dry heat. We certainly aren’t in Kansas anymore!

We’ve reached our destination! After unloading the trailer and getting our rooms set up, we had some free time to hang out with the beautiful scene of the Rocky Mountains. After that, we got to hear an incredible story from John, a retired pastor who served in the native communities in New Mexico. He gave us a great insight into Native American culture from his firsthand experience. Now we’re heading to bed before we get up early and make the rest of the trip to Rehoboth, New Mexico!

And the TFC New Mexico mission trip team is off! After taking some time in Atwood for orientation, time in the Word, and prayer, the team is stepping in God’s plan as He writes our story on this trip. This team of 24 is looking forward to how God will lead as we follow Him wholeheartedly! Our destination for tonight is Colorado Springs!!!

We are on the road!! Our New Mexico group is headed to Colorado Springs, our destination for the night. Before leaving, we spent time in Atwood for our orientation. Some of our kids have been on mission trip before, but we still have plenty of first-timers! We played some games, talked over the rules and prayed that this trip would let our story tell of God’s Plan! After eating lunch and taking a group photo, we climbed in the vans, and are now officially on the way!

After praying once more for the camp and our travels, the God's Mountain team traveled home yesterday. We asked God to bless Johnny and the team at God's Mountain for an incredible summer of camp and that God would use the lessons we learned while there to mold us into His plan for His glory!

Our theme song this year for mission trip is "His Glory and My Good" by CityAlight. We wanted to understand just how each story of ours fits into His plan and recognize that it is all for His glory, and in the end, that is good for us.

Please pray for each student who was on this short trip as they spend their first day home today. Pray that they'll continue their time in God's Word trying to understand more of His plan, and pray that they'll want to serve their family, friends, and community just as they did at God's Mountain Camp to glorify God! What a great chance to serve the Lord!

And on the 4th day we rested, which is not biblically accurate, but part of what we do on mission trip is to teach how Sabbath rest works! We were blessed to get to attend Jack and Jane Hager's church in Atchison, and afterward we were treated to a fellowship potluck with the church! The pastor shared all about God's sovereignty and what is needed to live well under God's sovereignty. Which connected so well with our theme of understanding that our story is all a part of His plan!

In the afternoon we rested and played some disc golf at a park in St. Joseph, without losing a single disc! But maybe got one or two stuck in a tree for a bit. 😂 But we laughed a lot and enjoyed some ice cream afterward.

To help us wrap up our time on mission trip, we unpacked what we've been experiencing and have all been sharing our stories with each other. Tonight we got to hear the last of those stories and see how God has been impacting all of us in unique but powerful ways. Our time at God's Mountain has been a part of those stories, but even more than that, it's been a part of His Plan!
