"My name is Marni Belan. I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and taught in the Prentice district for several years. My husband Mark and I have been married for 29 years and have four children. Now that they are all on to new things, I am beginning a new chapter in life. I love books, board games, playing the piano, spending time with my family and seeing new places. I am excited to be back in the classroom."

When Someone Hurts You... What's Your First Reaction?

Someone says something that cuts deep.
Someone betrays our trust.
Someone embarrasses us.
Someone wounds us in a way that's hard to forget.

Our first instinct is often to get even.

But Jesus challenges us to respond differently—not because the hurt wasn't real, but because He doesn't want someone else's actions to determine who we become.

Before you react, ask yourself:
"Is my response bringing me closer to Christ, or simply reflecting the hurt I've received?"
