Phenix City First To see people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. SERVICE TIME: 10:30AM On April 28, 1935, The Reverend J.C. A.S. Davis, and started to grow rapidly.

Around 1935, a group of 13 young people from Columbus, GA "came across the river" and held tent revival meetings here in Phenix City, AL. The young people were led by Reverend Emory Andrews, who felt the call to start an Assembly of God Church in Phenix City. The Revival Meetings were a huge success, and from that small beginning, the group began holding regular services around January of 1935 at the corner of 7th Ave and 20th St. Thames (then superintendent of the Alabama District) presided over the opening of the Church. Reverend Andrews was elected as church pastor of The Phenix City Assembly of God. It was not until sometime around 1946 that it began going by its present name of First Assembly of God. Shortly thereafter, the church held a tent revival, led by Rev. The congregation had to move into a new building on the corner of Flinn Alley and 10th Ave. Members and friends donated the materials and labor to build the new church. Phenix City First moved in the early 90's to its present location at 3777 Highway 431 North under the leadership of Rev. Barry Danner. A new sanctuary was built and other ministry buildings were added. Rev. Barry and Charlene Danner retired on December 31st 2022 and Rev. Nelson and Amy Lugo were voted as the new lead Pastors.

God is generous in the way He extends His mercy. If we are recipients of God’s mercy, shouldn’t we also be willing to extend that same mercy to others?

What's under your shoe?

The fact that we have walked a difficult road doesn't mean that we have walked the wrong road. The Lord is able to lift us out!

Hi!
We have been so excited to see you tomorrow for our SEU Chapel Hill Concert. We had everything ready and were really looking forward to what God was going to do through this night.

As you may be aware, Governor Ivey has issued a State of Emergency, and the storm projection for this weekend has had very little movement. It is still projected to impact many parts of Alabama starting tomorrow.

With that in mind, and out of an abundance of caution, we have made the difficult decision to postpone tomorrow night’s concert to a future date.
This was not an easy decision, especially after all the preparation that has gone into this event, but the safety of the team and everyone attending has to be our top priority.

We were really looking forward to worshiping with you tomorrow night, and we are disappointed that we cannot gather as planned. However, we are already working on a new date and expect to have it confirmed within the next week.

We will announce the new date as soon as it is finalized. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to worshiping with you soon!

✝️ // SUNDAY RECAP // ✝️

Sometimes God has other plans and we always listen!

Today’s sermon was a little delayed because God knew there were people hurting, searching and needing Jesus!

So we came together and prayed over and with each other in the most intimate way.

If you missed service this morning check it out on our app, YouTube and Facebook!

// Sunday R E C A P //

Your true inheritance is your path to God.

It only takes a small seed planted in the soil of a healthy heart. The weeds may grow among the wheat, but one day they will be separated. And what looks small and insignificant today can grow into something powerful and significant tomorrow.

Jesus said:

> **“The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field.” — Matthew 13:31 (KJV)**

The mustard seed begins small, but it grows. 🌱

Never underestimate what God can do with one small seed of faith planted in the right soil. What He plants in your heart today may become part of the inheritance you leave behind tomorrow.
