Granada Spain 6 hours ago: our team shared at Granada Baptist Church at their primary service. In one hour they will be going to a Gypsy village called Illora. Sophia is our team leader. Last year she was in Granada for the capstone of GCU’s minor in short -term missions. I am grateful that 2 days before my surgery she allow me to draft her into service!

It is early morning in Phoenix but mid afternoon in Spain. Our team’s connection to Granada was missed so the airline has put them up at a hotel in Madrid until tomorrow morning. I have encouraged them to be faithful and realize that God has them in Madrid. Pray for them to recognize God’s purpose for them in an accidental side-trip to Spain’s capital.

Our team going to Spain in March is fully staffed! 6 mission students a professor and his wife will go to Granada over Spring Break to work in a small village with a church plant. We are now accepting applications for young adults to join the work in Peru and Ecuador. These trips are open to young adults (18 and older) and they do not need to have any connection to Grand Canyon University or any other university or even be university students - we would love to take some graduates!

We have been back in the USA for 24 hours and tomorrow we will announce the most BASIC of outlines for 2025 mission trips.

Hackathon24 Update: we are currently at a very nice hotel where - until further notice- we are at a bougie hotel with 3 meals a day available to us. According to my app, we are confirmed for a flight on Wednesday while also according to my app, we do not have a flight at all. So, until whenever, we are thankful to be “stranded” in a city we know and enjoy rather than on the floor of Houston’s airport.

We were about to take off for Houston and home when the hack or whatever it was took down the airlines. We were on the plane until 5 am and are now at a very nice hotel in Quito waiting to find out what’s next.
