Our Church:
Established in 1953, our congregation has provided ministry to Pendleton for 7 decades. Our building was dedicated in 1960, with an educational wing added in 1971. We believe strongly in our involvement with both District and National Ministries of the Church of God, attending camps, conventions, youth retreats, camp meetings, etc. We regularly support both agencies through our budget
and special outreach offerings. Support for foreign missionaries is also a part of our outreach. Most importantly we believe in being a dynamic influence in our community. We have a strong, vibrant worship, involving both Sunday morning worship service and Wednesday night. Our worship coordinator leads us before the Lord and sets a tone for life. Our music is Christ-centered and Biblically-driven, with a great blend of re-tooled hymns and modern worship songs to add a dynamic Spirit-led worship. Messages are meant to be practical, challenging and life changing. We average between 100-150 in worship. Our Community:
Pendleton is situated 200 miles east of Portland on I-84. Our community is about 950 feet above sea level, located at the base of the Blue Mountains. Our population is around 16,000 with an average rainfall per year of about 14 inches. Our climate makes it ideal for growing some of the world’s greatest wheat. We are home to the Pendleton Round-Up Rodeo, Pendleton Woolen Mills and located right on the famous Oregon Trail. Within our city boundaries lie 2 high schools, 1 middle school and 4 elementary schools. We are also home to the Blue Mountain Community College and Eastern Oregon Correction Facility. Our outdoor enthusiasts enjoy hunting, fishing, rafting, snow skiing (2 local resorts), as well as many camping and hiking opportunities! The Church of God:
Pendleton Church of God is associated with the Church of God movement based in Anderson, Indiana. We are a part of the Pacific Northwest Association of Churches of God (Oregon and Southwest Washington). For more information about the Church of God please visit www.jesusisthesubject.org
