Deacon’s Corner - Scripture for today's thought:
Hebrews 12:1-3,7,9-11 Jesus, Founder and Perfecter
Therefore since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Endure hardship as discipline, God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
Isaiah 6:3
And one called to another and said; "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory! L🚂

Fix your eyes on Jesus, run your race of faith with endurance. Let the discipline from God be the joy in your soul. Remember the discipline of your earthly father and what you were taught by him. Romans 13:8-14 Fulfilling the Law Through Love
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellow man has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet, and and any other commandments which are summed up in this word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no wrong to a neighbor, therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. And do this, understanding the present time, the hour has come to wake up from your slumber because our salvation is nearer now than we first believed. The night is nearly gone and the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly and behave decently, as in the day time, not in or**es and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealously. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of sinful nature.

Psalm 5:1-12 Lead Me in Your Righteousness
Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my sighing. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I do pray. In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with you the wicked cannot dwell. The arrogant cannot stand in your presence, you detest all evildoers. You destroy those who tell lies, the Lord abhors blood-thirsty and deceitful men. But I, by your great mercy, will come into your house; in reverence I will bow down toward your holy temple. Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness, because of my enemies--make straight your way before me. Not a word from the mouth of my enemies can be trusted, their heart is filled with destruction. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongue they speak deceit. Make them bear their their guilt, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall. banish them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against you. But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy. 1st Corinthians 15:50-58 Mystery and Victory
I declare to you, brothers, flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we will all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the last trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written shall come to pass: "Death is swallowed up in victory."
"O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore , my beloved brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Proverbs 3:1-8,11-12 Trust in the Lord With All Your Heart
My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments. For length of days, years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. This, so you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline or be weary of his reproof. For the Lord reproves him who he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.
Psalm 51:1-2
Have mercy on me , O God, according to your everlasting love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.! L🚂

Psalm 19:1-11,14 The Law of the Lord is Perfect
The heavens declare the the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims the work of his hands. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them, he has set a tent for the sun, which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber. And like a strong man who runs his course like a champion. Its rises from one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other, and there is nothing hidden from its heat. The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making the wise simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever. The rules of the Lord are true and altogether righteous. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey, sweeter than drippings from the honeycomb. By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. May the words of my mouth and the meditation in my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Deacon’s Corner - Scripture for today's thought:
Ecclesiastes 5:1-7 Stand In Awe of God
Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil. Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and we are on earth. Therefore let our words be few. As a dream comes when there are many cares, so with the speech of a fool there are many words. When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Fulfill Your Vow! It is better not to make a vow than to make a vow and not fulfill it. Let not your mouth lead you into sin, and do not say before the messenger that it was a mistake. Why should God be angry at your voice and destroy the work of your hands? For when dreams increase and words grow many, there is vanity; But God is the one we must fear.
Colossians 3:23
Whatever you do, do it with enthusiasm as something done for the Lord, not for man.
2nd Chronicles 7:14
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. L🚂
There is much healing needed in our country and throughout the world. Let us all pray to God for his mighty hand to forgive us of our sins and to heal our hearts. Deacon’s Corner - Scripture for today's thought:
Hebrews 13:1-8 Sacrifices Pleasing to God
Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so, some have entertained angels unknowingly. Remember those who are in prison as if you were their fellow prisoner, and those who are mistreated as you yourselves were suffering. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed be kept pure, for God will judge the immoral. Keep your life free from love of money and be content with what you have,, for God has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So we can say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid, what can man do to me? Remember your leaders, those who speak to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever!
Romans 12:12
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, persevere in prayer.
Lamentations 3:25
The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. L🚂

Show brotherly love. Be kind to strangers. Keep marriage sacred and pure. Do not put your focus on money, be content with what God has provided for you. Psalm 23:1-6 The Lord Is My Shepherd
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 36:1-12 How precious Is Your Love
Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes. For in his own eyes he flatters himself too much to detect his own iniquity or hate his own sin. The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit, he has ceased to act wisely and do good. Even on his bed he plots evil; he commits himself to a sinful course and does not reject what is wrong. Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice is like the great deep. O Lord, you preserve both man and beast. How Precious is your Unfailing Love! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light. Oh precious God, continue your love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright in heart. Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away. There the evildoers lie fallen; they are thrust down, unable to rise.
Colossians 1:19-20
