Deacon’s Corner - Scripture for today's thought:
1st Peter:8-18 Suffering For Righteousness Sake
Finally, all of you live in harmony with one another, be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble, have a tender heart. Do not repay evil with evil, or insult for insult, on the contrary, repay with a blessing, because to this you were called that you may inherit a blessing. Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. He must turn away from evil and do good, let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil. Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you suffer for righteousness sake or what is right, you will be blessed. Do not fear what they fear, do not be troubled or frightened. In your hearts always honor Christ the Lord as holy. Always be prepared to give an answer to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you, but do so with gentleness and respect. It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered for our sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit. L🚂
Through the pain and suffering of his Son, Jesus Christ, God showed how much he loves us. In return let all of us show our love for God. Amen! Love one another as God loves you. Have a blessed day. Larry
