CHURCH COVENANT
As we aspire to keep Jesus at the center of our lives, we are Rooted in Faith, and Growing in Love. Jesus at the Center of Our Lives
We promise to strive to keep Jesus at the center of our lives by nurturing and developing our own understanding of Jesus’ life and teachings and demonstrating that understanding as we interact with others in the congregation and the larger community.

study of the Scriptures,
b. worshiping together,
and
d. meditation. Growing in Love
As we are rooted in faith and led by the Holy Spirit we:
a. experience God’s redemptive and sustaining grace,
b. grow in the knowledge of God revealed through Jesus,
c. love one another, being slow to judge and quick to forgive,
d. generously contribute time, money, and abilities to the church’s ministry,
e. proclaim the Gospel to those who do not know Jesus as Savior,
f. serve one another,
and
g. strive for purity. We promise to interact with others to help them discover Christ through: education and training, service opportunities, and missions by:
a. instructing others in the Christian faith and in our Baptist heritage,
b. celebrating different views and gifts among us, confident that we are one body in Christ,
and
c. promoting peace and justice whenever we touch other lives. And we promise to seek the kingdom of God, knowing that nothing can separate us from God’s love. We are a community of believers in the one true, living God, who is manifested as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We strive to welcome all people to join us on our faith journey. Our desire is to embody the inclusive ministry of Jesus Christ, recognizing that all people are created in the image of God and that church attendance, participation, membership, and leadership are open to all, without regard to race, ethnicity, gender, mental or physical ability, sexual orientation, education, economic circumstances, marital or family status, or any other distinctions of society. We endeavor to be a welcoming and affirming community of grace for all people, loving our neighbors because God first loved us.

When the people grew tired and hungry during their long desert wanderings, they grumbled and complained, and God responded. God generously provided for their needs by sending an abundance of...thin flakes like frost, white like coriander seed, tasting like wafers made with honey.

"What is it?" they asked. And this became its name: Manna.

Sometimes God's provisions are not what we expected. May we recognize God's abundance even in seasons of change and uncertainty.

FBC family,

Many of you will already have heard of the car crash last night in which one PHS student died and two others were injured. Please be in prayer for these families and their friends and loved ones. There will be a prayer vigil tomorrow morning at 10 am in Veterans Park for any who want to attend.

Many across our community are hurting. None of these students were at FBC but of course there are many connections. We lift up all who are grieving, and pray for God's healing, help, and peace.

On this 7th Sunday of the season of Easter (May 17), our Scripture text will be Philippians 2:1-13. "The Christ Hymn" challenges us to be like Jesus in ways that are challenging and countercultural. Do you really want to be like Jesus? If all Christians truly committed ourselves to following the Way of Jesus, what kind of difference might we make in the world?
