We all face times of deep grief in our lives. Jesus himself doesn’t say, “Look, everyone dies, get over it.” He’s angry at evil and suffering. But he came to do something about it!

Make room for grief. Mourning forces us to acknowledge the reality of death. It gives us permission to express our grief and reminds us that we don’t have to grieve alone. Mourning helps us begin learning how to live with loss.

Remember that Jesus grieves with us. Hold on to the hope of the Resurrection. We never go to the grave alone! That is good news.

What do you need to leave?

👉Gossip: Maybe it’s talking about people in ways you would never talk to them.

👉Control: Maybe it’s your need to control your spouse, children, or the people around you.

👉Greed: Maybe it’s the endless pursuit of more money, more possessions, and more security, even though you already have enough.

👉Lust: Maybe it’s po*******hy or the habit of looking at people as objects for your pleasure.

👉Unforgiveness: Maybe it’s a grudge you’ve carried for so long that you no longer want reconciliation.

👉Religious superiority: Maybe it’s the belief that being morally right gives you permission to treat people poorly.

Leaving involves going somewhere else. When we leave, we are called to follow Jesus. Now is the time.
