Last night at Solid Rock, we had the privilege of holding a Send-off Service for the Brooks family as they follow the Lord’s leading into full-time mission work at Shepherds Bethel in Southern Indiana.

Following God’s call often means stepping away from what is comfortable and familiar and trusting Him with what comes next. For the Brooks family, that means new opportunities to serve, but also some very real adjustments…one child beginning college in another state, another in middle school and leaving behind friendships, and an entire family beginning a new chapter together.

Would you join us in praying for them? Pray for grace in every transition, strength for the work ahead, protection over their family, and that God would quickly surround each of them with new friendships and a church family where they can grow, serve, and be used for His glory!

We are so thankful for their willingness to say yes to God’s call and labor wherever He leads.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.”
~ 1 Corinthians 15:58 ~

This Labor Day, may we remember that while much of our labor is temporary, our labor for the Lord is never in vain. ❤️

We’ve already got Sunday on our minds! We know exactly what we’ll be doing… worshipping our Savior, fellowshipping with friends, engaging in God’s Word, & serving those we love!

We can’t forget to mention that we’ll also be setting out the sign up sheet for corn-hole competitions immediately following the 6PM Worship service!
Corn-hole & fresh corn on the cob for everyone in attendance!

Yesterday wasn’t just about kids singing songs, playing instruments, or getting baptized. It was a picture of what happens when a generation is taught to know Jesus, love Jesus, and live unashamedly for Jesus.

We watched children use the talents God has given them to worship Him and we watched new believers follow Christ in baptism, publicly showing what God had already done in their hearts.

Here’s the challenge for all of us:
Are we raising children who simply know how to “do church,” or are we raising children who know Christ?
Are we teaching them that their gifts are for His glory? Are we showing them that following Jesus is worth standing for? Are we modeling a faith that they will want to carry into the next generation?

Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Yesterday, their lights were shining! Now let’s make sure ours are too. What a joy to watch the next generation sing, serve, surrender, and take their stand for Christ! The next generation is watching. What are they seeing in us?
