Praying for all of the students, staff and teachers today as many of you head back to school!

May I learn to love learning, oh Lord,
for the world is yours,
and all things in it speak
- each in their own way - of you:
of your mind,
your designs,
your artistry,
your power,
your unfolding purpose.

All knowledge is your knowledge.
All wisdom is your wisdom.

Thanks to big and small, young and old who came out and joined our Serve the City Day! We collected over 25 bags of trash and debris, including a giant squishmallow and a radiator! Special thanks to Eric Christ for helping us organize this day.

You might be wondering why we’d spend a Sunday this way instead of gathering for worship or meeting in missional communities. Well, here’s one reason why.

In John 20, after Jesus’ resurrection, Mary Magdalene encounters him—but fails to recognize him because she assumes he’s the gardener. It’s a small detail, but a meaningful one. Many have seen in this moment a connection back to Eden, where humanity was first invited to partner with God in cultivating and caring for creation.

In other words, one of the first images we get of the risen Jesus is tied to restoration—not just of people, but of the world itself.

The church has many callings, but one of them is this: to participate with God in bringing about his flourishing. When we celebrate the resurrection, we’re not only celebrating restored lives—we’re stepping into God’s ongoing work of restoring all things.
