On day 4, we talked about rockets! We built rockets with blocks, made straw rockets, did rocket yoga, and Mrs Jordan launched a soda bottle rocket. Our special treat was “rocket pops” and it was the perfect day for those!

Day 5 we talked about astronauts! We made astronaut masks and galaxy jars, “fed aliens,” drew galaxies with chalk, finished planet mobiles, and did some astronaut movement to get the wiggles out! Everyone got to choose their special treat today from the treats that were left. 😃

Day 3, we talked about stars, constellations, and comets! We built constellations with pretzels and marshmallows (some of us definitely ate our constellations ☺️), we drew constellations, and we played “asteroid toss.” Our special treat was star crunch!

Day 2 we talked about the moon and the sun! We leaned even more about our solar system. We painted moons learned about moon phases using Oreos, and did an science experiment called “fizzy moon.” Our special treat was moon pies!

We have had a blast at space camp this week!

On day one, we talked all about planets! We painted planets, talked about their characteristics, and enjoyed several slides on our projector! Cosmic brownies were our special treat!

More Carnival day fun!

Today we had a special “End of Year Carnival” at school and the kids had a blast! We had a bounce house, carnival games, face painting, popcorn (puff corn) and even cotton candy! Hopefully all the kids sleep well tonight! 😄

We finished up community helper week with a visit from the fire safety house! Wes Stegall and David Hanna from the Wadesboro Fire Department talked to the kids about fire safety in their homes and demonstrated our smoke detectors. Then, the kids got to go inside the fire safety house and explore. After that, it was time for popsicles! The kids had so much fun and it was great way to end our week of learning about helpers in our community!
