What changes when we think of a river not simply as a resource, but as something alive?

Beginning September 8, we’ll gather virtually for a three-part conversation around Robert Macfarlane’s Is a River Alive? Together, we’ll explore rivers and the communities connected to them while reflecting on relationship, responsibility, the rights of nature and our call to care for God’s Creation.

As we journey through Season of Creation, Pope Leo XIV invites us to reflect on the connections between care for creation, peace and our relationships with one another.

In his message for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, which opens the Season of Creation each year, Pope Leo calls us to recognize the wounds of our common home and our shared responsibility to care for what God has entrusted to us.

May this season inspire us to deepen our care for creation, for one another and for the world we share. 🌎🙏

To bear fruit it must die in storms of suffering, contradictions, sorrows, persecutions, etc. Then it bears abundant fruit. - St. Paul of the Cross
