The Passionists We are the Passionists of Holy Cross Province. Passionists serve in 61 countries worldwide.

Priests, brothers, sisters, nuns and laity proclaim God's love for the world revealed through the Passion of Jesus Christ and the hope found in the Resurrection.

We human beings are created for community in a “world in which all men and women, thanks to justice and love, affirmation and respect, know wholeness, well-being, and fullness of life” (Holy Cross Province Statement on Cultural and Racial Diversity, 6)

The Passionist Way reminds us this will only happen when we “[cultivate] goodwill toward one another and actively [seek] one another’s good.”

There may never be a perfect choice or a simple answer waiting for us in the voting booth.

Discernment asks us to pray, learn, listen, examine our consciences and consider experiences beyond our own.

For Passionists, the memory of the Passion is not something reserved for churches, retreats or prayer. It shapes how we encounter the world.

As Election Day approaches, we ask you to sit with this question:

What would it mean for me to carry the memory of the Passion with me into the voting booth?

It is only natural to want to plan your childrenʼs future for them and to presume that you know best what they should do. But this is not the right approach. It will only make your children angry. You have to leave them in complete freedom and trust that they will listen to God in responding to whatever vocation he gives them. - St. Paul of the Cross

🕯As All Souls' Day approaches on November 2, we invite you to remember and honor the loved ones who have gone before us.

In a special reflection, Fr. Mike Higgins, CP, reminds us that grief and gratitude often walk hand in hand. Through the love revealed in Christ's Cross and Resurrection, we find comfort in knowing that those we love remain in God's eternal care.

This November, we invite you to share the names of loved ones you would like the Passionists to remember in prayer. Whether your loss is recent or many years have passed, we would be honored to hold them, and you, in our prayers.

🙏 Read Fr. Mike's reflection and submit your prayer intentions: https://passionist.org/2026/10/27/holding-our-loved-ones-in-prayer-on-all-souls-day/

In a world where division can feel overwhelming, how can we become instruments of peace, justice and love?

As we continue our series, we're reminded that peace is more than the absence of conflict. It calls us to recognize the dignity of every person, seek understanding and consider how our choices affect the lives of others.

Our Passionist charism invites us to approach even difficult decisions with compassion, always keeping the suffering of others in our hearts.

💭 As we prepare to vote, we invite you to spend some time in prayer with these reflection questions, considering how we can help build a more just and peaceful world.

Love isn't about finding someone without imperfections, but choosing to see and appreciate the good in one another, even through life's challenges.

May we approach our relationships with gratitude, patience and understanding, remembering that love grows stronger when we choose compassion over criticism.

Across Holy Cross Province and around the world, our Passionist Family came together to celebrate the Feast of St. Paul of the Cross!

Through prayer, fellowship and joyful celebrations, we honored the life and legacy of our founder and the charism that continues to unite us more than 300 years later.

Though our celebrations may look different from place to place, we share the same mission: keeping alive the memory of Christ's Passion through love, compassion and service to others.

“Our Lord Jesus Christ, after His resurrection stood in the midst of His disciples and said: ‘Peace be upon you, alleluia.’

“...Let us, then, pray with all fervor for this peace which our divine Redeemer came to bring [us]. May He banish from souls whatever might endanger peace. May He transform all into witnesses of truth, justice and love. May He illumine with His light the minds of rulers, so that, besides caring for the proper material welfare of their peoples, they may also guarantee them the fairest gift of peace.

“May Christ inflame the desires of all to break through the barriers which divide them, to strengthen the bonds of mutual love, to learn to understand one another, and to pardon those who have done them wrong. Through His power and inspiration may all peoples welcome each other to their hearts …, and may the peace they long for ever flower and ever reign among them” (John XXIII, Pacem in Terris, 170-171).

I am sorry to hear of the hailstorm which has badly damaged the harvest. However, even when we are in dire need, we have to kiss the loving hand which has struck us. Through this, you will become truly poor in spirit and yet the Lord will provide for the needs of your family. “This my hope is laid up in my bosom” (Jb 19:26—Vulgate). - St. Paul of the Cross
