Confirmation Day
First Communion

A blessed day indeed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Park Hills, Mo.
We waved palm branches as we celebrated Palm Sunday...remembering Jesus' entry into Jerusalem on a donkey's c**t, as the crowds shouted, "Hosanna!" which means, "Save us!" They didn't yet understand that Jesus would die to save from their sins those who believed...not from the oppression of Roman rule.

Four of our youth completed their two-year study of the Scriptures and the teachings of Luther's Small Catechism.
Andersen Montgomery, Meredith Bass, Caleb Troup, and Ayden Montgomery were Confirmed in Christ in this morning's Divine Service, and were served their First Communion. God's blessings on these four young people, and on their walk with Christ.

How wonderful to have lots of children from our congregation and from visiting family and friends of the Confirmands join Pastor Jeremy May for his weekly Children's Message!

Many thanks to Trinity's Handbell Choir for their offering of an arrangement of "Crown Him With Many Crowns," accompanied by Mrs Teresa Rudasill. Lovely!

Trinity members, Mrs Kristen Troup and her three oldest children...Grace, Avery, and Caleb, leave tomorrow, Jan 3, on a mission trip to India with a larger group for two and a half weeks. Your prayers, please, for their safe travel, and for God's blessing as they share His Word in whatever way He guides them to do. "God be with you 'til we meet again."

Forgive the late post, but what a wonderful Christmas Eve service this year at Trinity Lutheran in Park Hills! The sanctuary was full with family and friends of our Trinity family, as we celebrated the advent of the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. A beautiful arrangement of "The Little Drummer Boy" was offered by the Handbell Choir. Pastor Jeremy May gave a meaningful message, and our organist, Mrs Teresa Rudasill, provided beautiful Christmas music and accompaniment for many favorite Christmas carols. The service ended with the traditional candlelighting as we sang Silent Night. We pray all may come to Christ in the New Year! God's blessings to you and your family!

"A Christmas to Believe In"

Our Trinity Youth..."Plus 1"... presented the Christmas Story during the Divine Service on December 14... in a most unique way. Narrators, Grace Troup and Andrew Bass, related the Bible account of Jesus' birth...at the same time, carrying on a conversation in which Andrew's character expressed doubts about his belief in The Truth. Periodically, as the Bible account progressed, Mary(Avery Troup) addressed Andrew, asking, "NOW do you believe?"

Such a wonderful script...and such a good job by our young people..."Plus 1"...Thanks, Tim Troup! May all come to Christ as we celebrate this blessed Christmas season!

"Advent By Candlelight"
Trinity Lutheran Church invited members of St Paul Lutheran Church in Farmington, Mo, to join us for our first Sunday in Advent church service, followed by a delicious supper. Members of LWML beautifully decorated the Fellowship Hall, complete with white linen tablecloths, lovely Christmas centerpieces, and soft candlelight by which to dine. We were so blessed to have several St Paul members join us for worship and fellowship! Advent means "coming." We look forward in great anticipation to the coming (advent) of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in this joyous Christmas season. May His coming bring you the Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love promised by God for all believers!

Last month, Garrett Smith was confirmed as a member of God's family. On October 5, Garrett and Katie Smith's son, Otto, was baptized. (Katie (Hillis) grew up at Trinity) We welcome Garrett, Katie, and baby Otto in Christian love. How wonderful to have yet another young family at Trinity!

Women in Missions celebrated LWML Sunday today at Trinity Lutheran Church in Park Hills, Mo. Denny Smith donned her Mighty Mites "costume" once again to emphasize the generous giving generated through the years on Mites Sunday. LWML has given to date, $72 Million in missions around the world, spreading the Word to all who will hear. Thank you, ladies!
