Day 2: Position Yourself to Hear God's Voice

Scripture
John 10:27
"My sheep listen to My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me."

Devotional
One of the greatest responsibilities of a watchman was listening carefully and paying attention to what was happening around him. Likewise, believers must learn to position themselves to hear God's voice.

The problem is not that God has stopped speaking. The challenge is often that life has become noisy. Work, responsibilities, entertainment, social media, and constant distractions can make us spiritually dull. God frequently speaks in moments when we intentionally slow down and create space for Him.

Prayer is not just talking to God; it is also listening to God.
Sometimes the most powerful words we can pray are:
"Lord, I'm listening."

God may speak through His Word, through prayer, through other believers, or through circumstances that He orchestrates. The key is maintaining a heart that is attentive and responsive.

Watchmen who fail to listen can miss important warnings. Believers who fail to listen can miss God's direction.

Reflection Questions
What distractions compete for your attention most often?
When was the last time you spent time quietly listening to God?
How can you create more space in your day for prayer and reflection?

Prayer
Lord, help me quiet the distractions around me. Give me ears to hear Your voice and a heart that responds in obedience. Teach me to listen carefully and follow Your leading. Amen.

The Watchman Arise
A 5-Day Devotional for Fathers, Families, and Believers
Theme Verse:
"On your walls, Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; all day and all night they will never keep silent." — Isaiah 62:6 (NASB)

Day 1: Remembering God's Faithfulness

Scripture
Psalm 126:3
"The Lord has done great things for us, and we are joyful."

Devotional
Before a watchman can look ahead, he must remember where God has brought him from.

Today, we reflected on God's faithfulness throughout the years. Every believer has a testimony. Every family has experienced moments when God made a way where there seemed to be no way.

Too often we become consumed with what still needs to happen and forget what God has already done. Looking back at God's faithfulness strengthens our faith for the future.

The enemy wants us to focus on failures, regrets, and missed opportunities. God wants us to focus on His grace. He does not define us by our past mistakes but by His present mercy and future promises.

Today, take time to reflect on how God has carried you, provided for you, protected you, and sustained you. His faithfulness in the past is evidence of His faithfulness for tomorrow.

Reflection Questions
What are three ways God has been faithful in your life?
Have you spent more time focusing on your failures or God's faithfulness?
How can remembering God's goodness strengthen your faith today?

Prayer
Father, thank You for Your faithfulness throughout my life. Help me remember Your goodness and trust You for what lies ahead. Thank You that my past does not define me and that Your grace is sufficient for every season. Amen.

This week, make the following declaration every morning:

"Lord, make me a watchman over my family, my church, my community, and my generation. Give me eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart that faithfully responds to Your voice. I will stand on the wall, pray without ceasing, and trust in Your faithfulness. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Happy Father's Day!

Today, we want to honor and celebrate all of the men in our lives. We thank each of you for being a Godly influence and a testimony to the goodness and grace of God.

Thank you for demonstrating strength, integrity, and leadership. Your willingness to stand firm in your faith and lead by example is a blessing to your families, our church, and our community.

Never forget that you are important. The next generation is watching, learning, and looking up to each one of you—and so are we. Your faithfulness today is helping shape tomorrow.

We pray that you have a wonderful, blessed, and joy-filled Father's Day as we celebrate and thank God for you.

"Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love." — 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Have a blessed Father's Day! 💙🙏🏻

🌟 The Watchmen Must Arise 🌟

Join us tomorrow morning at Radiant New Life Church as we celebrate Father's Day Weekend and our 5-Year Church Anniversary!

God has been speaking a powerful message to my heart about the call for believers to become modern-day watchmen—people who are spiritually alert, prayerful, and willing to stand in the gap for their families, churches, and communities.

📖 We'll be looking at passages from Ezekiel, Habakkuk, Isaiah, and the New Testament to discover:
✅ What it means to be a watchman today
✅ How to protect your family through prayer
✅ Why spiritual discernment is needed now more than ever
✅ How God is calling believers to stand on the wall for their city
✅ What it means to "give Him no rest" until breakthrough comes

Bay County needs watchmen.
Panama City needs watchmen.
Our families need watchmen.

The question is: Will we answer the call?
Whether you're a father, mother, grandparent, young adult, or simply hungry for more of God, this message is for you.

We'd love for you and your family to join us as we celebrate God's faithfulness over the last five years and look forward to all He has planned for the future.

Day 5: Obey What You Hear
Scripture: James 1:22

Focus: Obedience unlocks deeper revelation.

Hearing God is only the beginning—responding in obedience is what brings growth. Sometimes we ask God for more direction while ignoring what He already told us.
God reveals more to those who act on what they’ve received.

Reflection:
Is there something God has already asked you to do?
Are you willing to act even when it’s uncomfortable?

Prayer:
“Lord, give me the courage to obey. I choose to act on what You’ve spoken and trust You with the results.”

Closing Thought
God is always speaking.
Our responsibility is to:

Remove what hinders
Stay soft-hearted
Pursue intimacy
Walk in obedience

As you do, you’ll discover His voice was never distant—only waiting for your attention.

Day 4: Pursue Intimacy
Scripture: Jeremiah 29:13

Focus: Intimacy produces clarity.

God speaks in many ways—through His Word, His Spirit, people, and circumstances. But clarity comes through closeness.

The more time you spend with Him, the more clearly you will recognize His voice.

Reflection:
How consistent is your time with God?
Are you seeking Him or just seeking answers?

Prayer:
“God, draw me closer. I don’t just want answers—I want You. Help me pursue You with my whole heart.”

Day 3: Keep Your Heart Soft
Scripture: Hebrews 3:15

Focus: A hardened heart resists God.

Life can harden our hearts through hurt, disappointment, and stress. When that happens, we build walls—not just against people, but against God.
We must guard against hardness by choosing forgiveness, trust, and surrender.

Reflection:
Have past hurts caused you to withdraw or become guarded?
Are you holding onto offense or frustration?

Prayer:
“Lord, soften my heart. Remove any bitterness or walls I’ve built. Help me stay open and responsive to You.”

Day 2: Remove What Blocks His Voice
Scripture: Isaiah 59:1–2

Focus: Sin dulls spiritual hearing.

God never stops speaking—but sin creates distance and dulls our sensitivity to His voice. When we ignore conviction, over time it becomes harder to hear Him clearly.
Holiness isn’t restriction—it’s protection and direction.

Reflection:
Is there anything in your life that could be dulling your hearing?
Have you been ignoring God’s conviction in any area?

Prayer:
“Father, reveal anything in my life that is separating me from You. I repent and choose to walk in obedience and purity.”
