These flags are not declarations of who is welcome. They are reminders of who has always belonged. Human dignity is not granted by public opinion, political power, or religious approval. It is present from the moment you are you, in every iteration of you.

Yesterday afternoon Chaplain Travis
and I met up with Jim, Gail, and Georgie Girl 🦮 at Stanford University to do a little bit of classic finals week support from Episcopal Lutheran Campus Ministries (what students have started lovingly calling The Gay Jesus Group): Care kits with decent snacks, and a chance to just relax and spend some time petting Georgie Girl (she’s a total pro for bringing calm and joy to basically everyone she encounters).

Thanks to those who made donations to help us build the care kits! Every little bit makes a big difference in the lives of students— and those positive experiences will have ripple effects well into the future. So many faces showed pure relief at the opportunity to grab a snack, spend some time with Georgie Girl, and chat for a moment.

What a treat to receive and enjoy such inspired flowers today, arranged by one of our many artistic community members!
