United Campus Christian Ministry

United Campus Christian Ministry PC@S was founded by the students of United Campus Christian Ministry at Stanford and Episcopal Luther

By calling ourselves progressive, we mean that we are Christians who...

Have found an approach to God through the life and teachings of Jesus;
Recognize the faithfulness of other people who have other names for the way to God's realm, and acknowledge that their ways are true for them, as our ways are true for us;
Understand the sharing of bread and wine in Jesus's name to be a represe

ntation of an ancient vision of God's feast for all peoples;
Invite all people to participate in our community and worship life without insisting that they become like us in order to be acceptable (including but not limited to):
believers and agnostics,
conventional Christians and questioning skeptics,
women and men,
those of all sexual orientations and gender identities,
those of all races and cultures,
those of all classes and abilities,
those who hope for a better world and those who have lost hope;
Know that the way we behave toward one another and toward other people is the fullest expression of what we believe;
Find more grace in the search for understanding than we do in dogmatic certainty — more value in questioning than in absolutes;
Form ourselves into communities dedicated to equipping one another for the work we feel called to do: striving for peace and justice among all people, protecting and restoring the integrity of all God's creation, and bringing hope to those Jesus called the least of his sisters and brothers; and
Recognize that being followers of Jesus is costly, and entails selfless love, conscientious resistance to evil, and renunciation of privilege.

First the pain, then the rising. If you haven’t seen Emma Gonzalez’s speech yet - google her. She’s from Parkland - and she and her friends are the leaders we’ve needed.

The time has come to end gun violence and mass shootings in this country. On March 24, we will march to reclaim our humanity, our children, and our freaking soul. Abby and I will be there in DC marching. The kids will lead, we will follow them and amplify them with fierce gratitude, respect, and resolve. We will call BS (thank you Emma) on those who value NRA money above our children’s lives.

To dirty politicians: Our children — your constituents — are literally begging you to step up & protect them. Fighting for their own lives, while you cough up NRA talking points in exchange for their blood money. We will fight for our kids and come for your seat.

It’s time. It’s happening. If we do not show up now - when our children are being massacred – then when we will show up?

The corruption and greed and shameful trading of children’s lives for money is being revealed.

First the revelation: NOW THE REVOLUTION.

SEE YOU IN DC. Boots on the ground, Love Warriors.

The Navajo code talkers are heroes yet they were forced to listen to the president of the United States spew this racist junk, all while standing under a portrait of the president who committed horrendous atrocities against the native community. These incredible men deserve so much better than this.

In an event honoring Native Americans, Trump used a term widely seen as a racial slur to refer to Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. The president has frequently used the name to demean her on Twitter.

Many Christians are wary of participating in social justice because of a deep-rooted fear of being labeled “liberal,” “progressive,” or “secular.” They don’t want to be associated with “secular” movements, and are uncomfortable delving into issues that go beyond their cultural comfort zones. But the...

Neither the Gospel of Matthew nor Luke specifies the ages of Mary and Joseph. But both gospels seem to agree that Mary conceived by supernatural means, not through sexual in*******se.
