A message from Pastor Kayla Neese
Pastor Kayla will be joining Broadway as Associate Pastor in July.
Hello! Grace and Peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
My name is Kayla Neese, and I cannot wait for our journey together to begin! I am so excited to get to know all of you!
A little bit of my story is that I was born and raised in a small town in Middle Tennessee named Lewisburg. I attended the University of Tennessee at Martin, and it was there, at the campus’s Wesley Foundation, where I first began to explore my call to ministry in The United Methodist Church.
My exploration led me to Candler School of Theology in Atlanta to pursue a Master of Divinity, and I truly enjoyed my time there. I was blessed with so many opportunities to dip my toes into a variety of different forms of ministry from chaplaincy work at an Assisted living, to children’s ministry at a large Suburban United Methodist Church, and finally, to serve as an Associate Pastor at a more rural church an hour or so outside of Atlanta.
When I graduated from Candler in 2023 at the age of 25, I was appointed to serve as Pastor of Cornersville UMC and Lewisburg Chapel. It was quite the interesting experience to pastor a church in my hometown and the other 15 minutes away. This experience has been the greatest gift. Cornersville UMC and Lewisburg Chapel have grown me and challenged me in such profound ways, and I believe totally that I am a better pastor for having served with them the last three years.
I am thrilled to take the skills developed, lessons learned, and experiences felt with me to Broadway UMC! I also am so joy-filled to continue to learn and grow alongside you. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us. Please pray with and for me as I begin this transition!
