Catholics in the area, remember to join us Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Owatonna, MN for a special Sacred Heart Holy hour tonight, June 11 at 6 PM. Members, bring someone along so we can fill the Church!

Today the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, joined by parishes and faithful across the country. The act of consecration takes place as part of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Join the livestream this afternoon at 4pm ET / 3pm CT / 2pm MT / 1pm PT. Watch along, pray with us, and entrust our nation to the love of Christ's Sacred Heart.

Fr. Marty Schaefer, Vice Rector of IHM Seminary, has been working diligently to prepare for the new cohort of seminarians:

"To get the incoming seminarians ready for the next year, I read their bios from their application to get a sense of who they are, and I put them in fraternity groups and assign them to house jobs. My goal is to set them up in a place in the community where they can thrive and flourish as soon as they arrive."

Please continue to pray for the seminarians as the graduates continue to the next step of formation and the new men as they begin their discernment process.

Leading up to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, the U.S. bishops will consecrate the nation to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 11, the eve of the solemnity of the Sacred Heart. Beginning today, Knights and their families are encouraged to pray a novena that concludes June 11. Visit kofc.org/america250 to learn more.

Archbishop Alexander Sample of Portland, Oregon, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee for Religious Liberty and a longtime Knight, recently spoke with Columbia about devotion to the Sacred Heart, the upcoming consecration of the United States and the role of religious liberty in American society. “Our hope is that greater charity will be exercised throughout our country, and that in the heart of Christ we will rediscover the unity that seems to be slipping away from us in today’s divisive culture,” he said. “That in the heart of Christ we will find ourselves to be friends again, even with those with whom we disagree.”
