Thursday's Thought for the Day!

The days seem to be on a repeat cycle for it promises to be another summer like day. Rain is in the forecast and I sure hope they are right. Be kind. Help when and where you can and remember to pray for our ppnnation, for others and for peace.

Sticky notes! I use them all the time. I make lists on them, put reminders on them and stick them where I will find and actually remember to take them with me. These notes remind me of what I need in groceries, where I need to go when running errands and other things I need to accomplish and would probably forget without them.

I'm thankful God doesn't need sticky notes to remember to take care of me. I'm glad He never forgets where I am or what I need. The fact that God takes such good care of insignificant me is amazing and for that I am eternally thankful.

Today and everyday let us be thankful for His constant care and His constant direction and let us be wise enough to follow Him.

Wednesday's Thought for the Day!

Good morning. It is just getting light outside, and the weather is going
to be more like summer than fall. We really need rain, so I hope it comes
this weekend. Be kind. Help when and where you can and remember to pray
for others, for our country and for peace.

I love quilts. I have several and they are all lovely in their special ways.The way the artist, and those who make them are artists, take scraps of cloth and design beautiful quilts is nothing short of amazing to me.The colors, the designs and the thought process combine to make not only a blanket of warmth, but a beautiful keepsake.

God is working in our lives much as a quilt maker works.He takes the scraps of our lives and molds us into His design. Our scraps may be pride, unforgiveness, anger, any sort of sin and He takes those scraps when we confess and turns them into humility, grace, peace, and the fruits of the Spirit.

May we rejoice that we have a God who never ceases to be ready to remake us and let us be a people of love, mercy and grace to others just as He is to us.

Monday's Thought for the Day!

The sun is just peeking up over the tree tops and the colors are wonderful. The moon is fading but lovely too so I got a double treat this morning. Be kind. Help when and where you can and remember to pray for our nation and for peace as you also pray for others.

1 Corinthians 13:4 tell us love is patient, love is kind. It also says "Love never fails in verse 8. Love!

Today focus on love, loving your families, your co-workers, your friends and yes-- even people you don't know or those you have had problems with, in the past. This love is the love that Christ has for us.

And show this love by how you treat these folks, with that patience and
kindness that is part of this passage. Be kind, be patient with everyone for everyone is going through something. Today and tomorrow be the hands and feet of Jesus as you follow these words and your days will flow much better!!

Finally, remember that this kind of love never fails, in fact I think it grows and I don't know about you, but I look forward to that growth in my spirit and for others in my life.

Thought for the Weekend!

Good morning and an early one today as I'm headed off to work soon. The
weather is to be lovely so enjoy it and enjoy the weekend ahead. Be kind. Help when and where you can and remember to pray for others, for our nation and for peace.

Kindness is one of the fruits of the Spirit and it costs little or nothing. Being kind involves doing for others as you would have them do to and for you. I said the cost was little or nothing, but sometimes it is much more.

Sometimes we are faced with difficult people or situations that threaten to take away our spirit of forgiveness and thus our kindness. Don't let it, try to be kind in all situations and remember that Jesus loves you and them on an equal basis.

Today and this weekend, practice this fruit of the Spirit...kindness and I bet you will feel better for it.

Thursday's Thought for the Day!

What a pretty morning here. The weather is to be great again today, though we really need rain here. Be kind. Help when and where you can and remember to pray for others, for our nation and for peace.

Home! When I have to be gone, either for work or play, I love coming home. Home is where I can be me, where I can relax, unwind, and recharge.

Bandit likes home too. When we walk, he is always ready to get going and off we go. After a while though he stops dead in his tracks and refuses to go forward. So I ask him if he wants to "go back" and off he goes, headed back home. When he gets close to the house, off he trots and jumps up on the patio waiting expectedly for me to catch up so we can go inside.

I think I'll be like that at the moment of my death, I'll be running with joy, headed to my heavenly home.

Today and every day, be joyful in being out and about, doing good, helping others and showing love. Then when your day is done head home with joy and enjoy being there. And live your life with the expectation of the joy in your final homecoming, when you get to see Jesus and live with Him in heaven.

Wednesday's Thought for the Day!

Good morning and happy Hump Day! And it promises to be a good day today so I hope to get a couple walks in. Be kind. Help when and where you can and remember to pray for others and for our nation and for peace.

Trash! We all have it, and for most people trash goes in a bin or trash can. But sometimes my yard is the recipient of trash. UGH! So I pick it up and put it where it belongs which is not the yard.

And once I have put it away, I forget about it knowing my wonderful "trash men" will collect it. Those guys are great, always on time and with a smile. I hope you thank yours, for I sure thank mine.

But back to trash....sin is like that. We all sin and sometimes our sin spills out maybe not on the yard, but to others and it needs to be removed. Thankfully, our sins are removed when we confess to Jesus and when we do, He removes them and we can go forward knowing they are gone.

Jesus wants us to know that He forgives us, and we can live freely if we follow Him and live as He would have us live. But when we do sin, and we will, He is ready to forgive us and cleanse us.

Today and every day remember to pick up your trash, thank the "trash men" and above all give thanks to Jesus for forgiving us when our "trash" called sin needs to be removed.

Tuesday's Thought for the Day!

An early day today as off to Galesburg for work though it is more like play. It is supposed to be a lovely fall day and I hope to see some pretty trees as I travel north. Be kind. Help when and where you can and remember to pray for others, for our nation and for peace.

Trees! I love trees.They provide shade, help with cleaning the air, and are unique in their looks. I have one tree in my yard and, while it needs trimming, it is a great tree. I love the shade it provides and the flowers on it in the spring are beautiful.

This time of year trees shed their leaves but before doing so, they display beautiful colors and provide a feast for my eyes.

And in the winter we see the bare branches that have been hidden by the leaves, only to be covered again in the Spring with new growth.

Today when you are outside, really look at a tree. Look at the trees changing colors and at the leaves that have fallen and give thanks that we have a God of Creation who gives us these wonderous trees to bless
our lives.

Look beyond your worries and your pains and give thanks for all the beauty around you. I will today and I hope you do too. God is so good, let us praise Him today and every day.

Monday's Thought for the Day!

Good morning, and a crisp fall morning it is. I hope everyone had a good weekend and let's pray for a great week. Be kind. Help when and where you can and remember to pray for others, for our nation and for peace.

Friday as I drove to Quincy I noticed how bare many of the fields were since they were harvested. You could see quite a distance where before you saw only the first rows of corn or the bean fields obscured the ground. The crops blocked the view of the ground until they were harvested thus giving a clear view.

It made me think of how God clears our sins when we have confessed. What was growing, what was blocking the way is removed and our path and life is clear again. And this may have to be done again and again for we all sin and we all need to confess.

Today if you have unresolved, unconfessed sin ask God to clear the way and give you a clear path. And then walk on that clear path, doing good and helping others "harvest" the blessing of His forgiving grace.
