Large-scale data centers promise economic growth, but they bring major concerns: heavy water and energy use, strained ratepayers, local pollution, and corporate accountability. That’s why we, along with the Kansas WEALTH Coalition, are hosting a statewide fall panel series to explore these challenges and ask whether proper guardrails are even possible. Join the conversation as people of faith and conscience addressing impacts on our earth and vulnerable communities.

Promising a future of jobs and economic opportunity, large-scale data centers also come with a host of challenges: land and water use, environmental impacts, impacts on local electricity grids, and concerns about corporate accountability. That’s why they have generated so much opposition throughout the state.

We’re excited to announce that this fall, Kansas Interfaith Action will hold a series of panel discussions starting later this month, looking at the challenges posed by the rapid build-out of data centers, and asking whether it is possible to establish sufficient guardrails to allow these projects to move forward.

As people of faith and conscience, we must consider the implications of large-scale data centers on the earth and on those who are most vulnerable in our communities. Join us for this important conversation.

Sunday was full of connection and celebration! We were so grateful to kick off the morning with our friends at Pine Valley Christian Church in Wichita, taking time to worship together and ground ourselves in shared goals for the beloved community. A huge thank you to everyone at Pine Valley for the warm welcome! As a dedicated KIFA One partner congregation, your steadfast support makes our statewide work possible as we envision a better future, speak up, and put our faith into action. To top off a full day, we spent the afternoon in Wichita celebrating our collective impact with a vibrant, joyful event!

We were so fortunate to join our friends at Colonial UCC in Prairie Village this past Sunday for a morning filled with shared sacred space and community vision. Grounded in Isaiah 58:6–12, Reb Moti delivered a sermon titled "Advocates for God’s Realm," exploring how true religious fasting goes beyond mere ritual, calling us instead toward active justice, mercy, and care for our neighbors.
