Ever catch a song and it instantly transports you back to a specific moment? Or maybe a scent brings back a cherished memory, like the state fair or your grandparents’ house? Or do you often think about those who have passed, filled with wonderful memories? God’s greatest gift, besides salvation, is memories—they never fade. When we do something someone we loved did, it feels like we’re carrying a piece of them with us. I’m sharing all this to spark your thoughts. What have you recently done that reminds you of the day you were saved and how wonderful The One who saved you from sin is? We’re going to reflect on Jesus and His sacrifice, and we’ll partake in the Lord’s Supper. It’s a time to reflect on our lives and who we are because of who He is. Come for the Lord’s Supper and leave with the joy and gratitude He deserves. We’ll do it in remembrance of Him. We have so many memories of Him in our life, and the memories He has allowed us to have with those we hold dear. The Lord’s Supper Sunday, August 30th. His Body, His Blood Our Grace is the message. Come worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

God Testing? That’s Your Testimony!

Every Sunday at the completion of the service I begin thanking God for what He revealed to me during the week of sermon preparation. God reveals His Word in ways you may have never considered before when studying His Word. I always take a moment on Sunday evening to pray and seek inspiration for the upcoming Sunday.

My study this week began with passages involving Christians in the Bible and how they responded to being tested. Pretty good company we share if we are also finding ourselves to being tested. A few that come to mind: Abraham, the Israelites, and Job. I plan to answer questions in my sermon Sunday that I have been asked before: Why does God test us? How we should respond to being tested? How we can use our time of testing as a testimony?

Romans 8:28 - “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

I am thankful for my church family who are faithful to attend and those who follow our Facebook services. Thank you to friends, family and those who visit our site. I have been blessed by so many who support and pray for me and the ongoing ministry at Son Rise. Many of my dear friends have visited and blessed my heart.
