What a powerful and timely word from First Lady Leigh Ann Williams as she shared from 1 Kings 19:11-12 on The Still Small Voice.

As Elijah faced fear, discouragement, and uncertainty under the reign of Ahab and Jezebel, God reminded him of an important truth: sometimes there is a time to stop and rest before the journey God is leading us into. Rest is not weakness—it is preparation.

She reminded us that even when it feels like we are standing alone, God always has a remnant. Just as Obadiah hid the prophets in the caves during Jezebel’s persecution, God still has people hidden away and at work. You are not the only one!

There is a time to stop, but there is also a time to stand and listen. God was not in the wind, the earthquake, or the fire. He spoke through a still small voice—a whisper. A true man or woman of God learns to get quiet enough to hear what God is saying.

One of the most powerful challenges of the message was this: Let God guide you instead of trying to guide God.

Just as God answered by fire on Mount Carmel in chapter 18, He continues to reveal His power and faithfulness today. And when God calls, our response should be immediate obedience.

May we learn to rest when He says rest, stand when He says stand, listen for His voice, and run when He calls

Today at Hope Church of God, we were honored to recognize and celebrate our graduates and their accomplishments. We are so proud of each one of them and excited to see what God has in store for their future.

As we celebrated, I shared a simple thought: our lives are like books filled with blank pages. Every chapter tells part of our story, and each new season presents another page waiting to be written. We can try to write the story ourselves, or we can place the pen in God’s hands and trust Him to author the next chapter.

The graduates we honored today are stepping into a new chapter of life, but that truth applies to all of us. No matter our age or stage of life, God is still writing our story. When we surrender our plans, dreams, and future to Him, He can create a story far greater than anything we could write on our own.

Congratulations to all of our graduates! We are praying that God will guide your steps, direct your path, and make this next chapter one filled with purpose, faith, and His blessings.

I hope they know they are covered in prayer by Hope Church and their pastor

Love, Rev J

What a powerful word we received Sunday during our Mothers in May service from Sister Mandy Froberg!

The heart of the message was simple, yet deeply challenging: “I Surrender All.”

We were reminded that the Lord will only take what we are willing to give Him, and He will only help us with what we truly surrender. So often we want God to move while still holding tightly to our own plans, fears, and control. But true discipleship requires us to shift from “my will be done” to “Your will be done.”

Jesus said, “If any man desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.” Following Christ means daily surrender, daily trust, and daily obedience.

We were also encouraged through the Word to humble ourselves before God, casting all our cares upon Him because He truly cares for us. What a comfort to know that when we surrender our burdens, He is faithful to carry them.

One of the most powerful reminders from the message was this: The smallest miracles often reveal the biggest truths. God is working in ways we may overlook, and every act of His faithfulness points us back to His love, power, and purpose.

Thank you Sister Mandy for allowing the Lord to use you and for delivering such a timely and heartfelt word to Hope Church!

Sister Angie McCoun Taylor spoke yesterday for our Mothers in May Celebration. What a powerful word we received.

She reminded us through the book of James to “count it all joy” even in the middle of trials, because God is faithful and walks with us through every season. Trials may come, but they do not have the final say.

From 1 Peter, we were encouraged to keep praising God in the midst of what we’re facing. You don’t have to look like what you’re going through! God’s grace can sustain you even when life gets heavy.

One statement that stood out was: “Buckle in with God.” Make the decision before your day even begins that you are going to trust Him no matter what comes your way.

Not every trial is pointless. Some trials are purposeful and necessary for a season. God uses them to purify our faith, deepen our dependence on Him, and remove spiritual impurities from our lives.

And thank God for testimonies! Sometimes the very reason we are qualified to encourage others is because we have walked through some things ourselves. God may allow us to go through tests and trials, but when we come through them, we come out stronger, wiser, and better than before.

Keep trusting God through every season. He is working even in the trial.

We felt blessed to have the Hankins celebrate Mother's Day with us. Sister Joy's inspiring message drew our attention to the importance of valuing the time we have. Every day is a treasure given by the Lord, and it's essential to make the most of the time we've been granted.
