The Churches of the Brethren of the West Marva District meet for worship on Sundays in 68 different meeting houses in western Maryland and northeastern West Virginia. The average worship attendance among these locations is over 2,600 each week. We are one of several Districts that make up the Church of the Brethren, a Christian denomination throughout the greater United States and world. Addition
ally, the District provides two camps, Camp Galilee near Terra Alta, WV, and Camp Hope north of Belington, that offer outdoor ministry opportunities. The work of overseeing the ministry of our congregations is delegated by the District Conference (made up of delegates from each congregation) to the Mission and Ministry Board. The Board is organized into four Teams: Ministerial Leadership, Mission and Evangelism, Spiritual Growth, and Financial Resource. These Teams are empowered to appoint sub-committees to assist them in their work.
