Having finally found the proper LoC designation, this classic of Czech Hermeticism, which includes the author's renderings of both Ka*****ra and Kamashastra, has now moved to the rare-book shelf as part of the Past-Master Aletheia Collection.

To Local Initiates:

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

Members of Alpha Chapter—the regional O.T.O. body covering Northern California—will host a series of discussions (NOT lectures) on 2nd Tuesdays covering aspects of the degree system at the Bay Area Thelemic Temple, home of Blazing Star Oasis and the Grady Louis McMurtry Memorial Library, starting tonight (Tuesday 6 June).

These will provide opportunities to review the Modes of Recognition and oaths, as well as discussion of any and all aspect of the initiation rituals. Bring your study guides and your questions, or sit back and listen to the old-timers and chartered initiators debate the fine points. We can discuss literally anything up to the lowest degree held in common by all present.

The Oasis Librarian will be on hand to assist with finding degree-related book recommendations in the library: review on site, or engage your checkout privileges if you are reasonably up-to-date on National and Local Dues. (Payments toward both are accepted at the events.)

Doors open at 6:30 PM, and discussing in earnest will begin about 7. A donation of $10 ($5 for local-dues current members of any local body) is requested, which will go to the hosting Oasis for the use of their space.

Love is the law, love under will.

Somehow, the Librarian was unaware that we had these writings of Saint Sir Edward Kelley in the Thelema Lodge collection, now dusted off and properly catalogued. (Ours is the more uncommon Weiser hardback, not the oversize Kessinger softcover likely pictured on this post, because Goodreads is silly like that.)

Two Excellent Treatises on the Philosopher's Stone toge…

January 2026 Astrology from Oasis Master Aldebaran

January sees a lot of activity in the Saturn ruled signs of Capricorn and Aquarius. This highlights the condition of Saturn in Pisces, and gives that planet an outsized influence on the events of the month to come. In Pisces, Saturn is mostly peregrine, only having essential dignity by term in the last three degrees. It is these last degrees that he will be inching toward in January, though he does not reach them until the end of the month....
