An incredible, peaceful night with our high school youth group.
Tonight, our teens gathered for a deeply powerful Luminary Prayer Walk.
Together, we walked through the cemetery, lighting the darkness with beautiful candlelight and praying specifically for all those who are buried there, as well as the poor souls in Purgatory.
It was incredibly moving to watch our youth put their faith and mercy into action, stepping into the quiet of the evening to remember, honor, and lift up those who have gone before us. We are so proud of their open hearts and their dedication to this beautiful tradition of prayer and remembrance.
But tonight was also about equipping our youth with spiritual truth. Before heading out, we had a vital discussion about the reality of the spiritual realm. We talked openly about the dangers of the occult and the critical importance of protecting our souls by not opening dangerous portals through things like Ouija boards, divination, or practices that look harmless but lead away from God.
We are so proud of their mature hearts, their serious engagement with these truths, and their dedication to lifting up the faithful departed.

High School Youth Ministry tonight focused on the topic "Sent Out," our teens stepped out of their comfort zones and looked at what it truly means to live out the mission of Christ on their high school campuses.

We kicked off the night with a icebreaker game called "Fruits vs. Fake," where everyone had to distinguish between authentic, scriptural Fruits of the Holy Spirit and the deceptive, realistic-sounding "counterfeits" praised by modern secular culture (like comparison, self-sufficiency, and toxic positivity).

Our proclamation talk, "Backing Out of the Garage," challenged our high schoolers with a powerful truth: *A pristine sports car is perfectly safe sitting inside a dark garage, but it wasn't manufactured to sit idle—it was engineered for the open road.* In the same way, a disciple isn't meant to keep their faith hidden away in safe spaces. We are called to put it in gear and bring real love, joy, peace, and self-control straight into our school hallways, sports teams, and group chats.
They took crosses and wrote, Acts 1:8 on them which states,"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Then they each signed eachother's so they would remember they are not alone in their Faith, there are others who share it, not to be afraid to speak truth at school.
We wrapped up the evening with a beautiful, moving Commissioning Service, where our youth stood before the Lord and declared their readiness to step out as active witnesses to the Gospel. It was a powerful night!
