North Scituate Baptist Church

North Scituate Baptist Church Our preaching and teaching aim to share the truth and love of Jesus in a way that is relevant and applicable to life in the 21st century.

Our worship style leans towards the traditional but includes some contemporary aspects. Our desire is to communicate and live out the good news of Jesus. We believe that everyone needs Jesus and that He is ultimately what people are looking for in life. Our faith and teaching center on Jesus....who He is, what He taught, and what He's done for us by laying down His life out of love for us and risi

ng again. We believe that the Bible is extremely relevant in the 21st century. We try to communicate what the Bible teaches in a clear way that encourages people to apply what they hear. We aim for the challenging goal of "speaking the truth in love" (Ephesians 4:15). We meet for worship in person worship each Sunday at 10 a.m. in addition to livestreaming our times of worship via Facebook Live and YouTube. Our many ministries include a prayer shawl ministry (where members of the church knit blankets to be given to those in need of prayer) and a video ministry (where our weekly services are taped and air on RI public access stations). We also give ongoing support to the food pantry in our town. Among our community traditions is the May Breakfast that's been held for more than 125 years, complete with famous Johnnycakes. North Scituate Baptist Church is an American Baptist Church.

May 24th is Pentecost Sunday. It is the 50th day after Easter. It commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles, marking the birth of the Christian Church. The primary symbols of the event are Fire, Wind, the Dove. We wear red because the color is a long-standing Christian tradition that symbolizes the “tongues of fire” and the passionate energy of the Holy Spirit.
